CNN reports that Trump said that McCarthy, who is running to replace Speaker of the House Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) after he resigns at the end of the month, wouldn’t make a good Speaker of the House.
“I would like to see someone that’s very tough and that can negotiate with the Democrats, and I don’t know that he’s that person,” explained Trump. “We need somebody that’s a very, very tough, smart, cunning person. I don’t know that that’s him, and obviously this statement hurt him pretty badly in the eyes of some, unfortunately.”
Trump was referring to McCarthy’s statement regarding the House Select Committee on Benghazi, saying the committee has damaged Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton’s poll numbers. McCarthy’s statement created controversy, as some Republicans countered that hurting Clinton’s poll numbers wasn’t why the Select Committee on Benghazi was formed.
Trump suggested that McCarthy’s statement could be “taken both ways,” but Democrats and Clinton are “running with it” to damage Republicans.
“Certainly he’s not off to a great start,” said Trump. “I watched that (comment), actually, and I was a little surprised by it. … It would have been nice if he didn’t say it, certainly, because then there would be no dispute.”

He commands respect in interviews. My impression is the media enjoys interviewing someone who is so forthright and free. They probably chafe at the policies but they must be sick to death of the phony Obamaci.

You raise an interesting idea. It’s possible and given Trump’s unpredictable personality, it makes sense. The problem with his talking the way he has sometimes is that it turns a lot of people off, people who like his ideas and plans so far. I’m not sure how you get them to see him favorably.
Ok, I’m a Cruz supporter but the characterization that when Trumo says negotiate with Dems what he really means is compromise in the establishment sense of the word is unfair.
Negotiation has a specific meaning for Trumo and it’s tied up with winning and losing. Negotiating is how to play to win.
For example, Pres. Obama has negotiated with the Republican Congress: Do things my way or I’ll embarrass you with media claims that you shut down the government. Pres Obama didn’t concede a single ideological point, yet he still negotiated the terms of funding the government with Republicans.
Someone that will two-time his spouse will without a doubt two-time his constituents. If you won’t keep a sacred vow, you surely won’t keep campaign promise.
His ongoing affair with Renee Elmers, both of them married elsewhere, should disqualify him from being elected Speaker.
That, and it appears that Levin’s assessment that he’s Cantor, minus 10IQ points, seems to be spot on.

Rush has said COUNTLESS TIMES you do NOT NEGOTIATE with Democrats, nor with those who want to tear down the Constitution.
You march in there and tell them ( when you are elected BY THE PEOPLE)... what is going to happen... NEGOTIATE? NO!!!
