Rubio: I will stand up to Putin (Does Marco support Fiorina's No-Fly Zones?)
Tampa Bay Times ^ | 10/2/15 | Alex Leary

The U.S. and Russia are "barreling toward a Second Cold War," Marco Rubio will say in a speech today in Iowa, "and strong American leadership is the only force capable of ensuring that peace and security once again prevail."

Rubio, who has gotten attention for his hard-line foreign policy outlook, is to speak in Cedar Rapids at the Americans for Peace, Prosperity and Security National Security Forum.

"The more our current president fails the test of leadership against Putin, the more important it becomes for our next president to pass it. I will pass this test," Rubio vows in prepared remarks.

Read his plan to take on Putin: Over the last five years, I have consistently spoken out on the need to contain Russian aggression, even when it wasn’t popular. I have highlighted the dangers of the Obama/Clinton “reset” with Russia. And in 2014, I urged a rapid and forceful response to Putin’s annexation of Crimea.

As soon as I take office, I will move quickly to increase pressure on Moscow. I will impose a new round of sanctions on The Kremlin’s senior leadership and other Russian entities, including Gazprom, and will work with Europe to exclude Russia from the SWIFT interbank payment system.

I will immediately provide Ukraine with lethal military assistance and increased intelligence sharing to ensure that Putin’s violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty comes at a price.

And will the world laugh at Rubio's gay lisp when he says it?

We need a savvy leader in this head butt with Putin. Certainly not the feckless community organizer we have.
This “cold war” absolutely must not escalate.
An “incident” cannot be handled by Zer0.

He won’t even stand up for our sovereignty to keep illegals from the south destroying this country. Even as a symbolic “I don’t want illegals to be citizens” gesture he can’t even do that right. How would any sane person think this pipsqueak could stand up to the Bear? Laughable.

Rubio comes off as a boy.

What exactly have Rubio and Paul done to distinguish themselves from the herd in the Senate? At least Cruz has bucked the tide.

And if Europe tells you to go pound sand, then what?

Too bad Rubio doesn’t stand up to illegal aliens and his corporate and globalist benefactors.

There are times when the President of the United States should stand up to the President of Russia. Defending a terrible Syria policy is not one of those times. I am rooting for Russia to kill every terrorist in Syria, even the terrorists that Obama supports. I want stability in Syria, since all the alternatives look even worse than Assad (and that’s pretty bad).

the main problem facing America and the world is not Russia.

The real enemies America has are islam and its own corrupt, tyrannical federal government.

this “i am tough” political rhetoric these candidates are using is both dangerous and ridiculous.

The reasoning for going into Libya was R2P (responsibility to protect), the action caused many deaths and mass migration

Putin calls US support for rebel forces in Syria 'illegal' and says it just arms ISIS

...In my opinion, provision of military support to illegal structures runs counter to the principles of modern international law and the United Nations Charter.

By the time Obama is out 16 months from now, Putin will have already accomplished what he set out to do.
Putin is smart, and is taking advantage of Obama's remaining time in office.
It will be too late by the time the new president begins his (or her) term.

No one is believing the lie that there are “moderate” rebels in Syria fighting for a Western style democratic republic.

We have only two realistic choices in Muslim nations: radical jihadists or relatively benevolent dictators. Constitutional republics cannot co-exist with Islam. Apparently, our masterminds want jihadists so that they can continually keep the nation at war. That way, they can divert the public from domestic woes and justify the homeland police state. Importing jihadi refugees directly into the US is another bonus for the totalitarians.

The problem is that the GOPe apparently believes that conservative base is as stupid as the ignorant Democrat voters.
