CAIRO - Bahrain said on Thursday it had recalled its ambassador to Iran, a day after it said security forces had discovered a large bomb-making factory and arrested a number of suspects linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guards.

Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it had also declared the Iranian charge d'affaires in Bahrain a "persona non grata" and gave him 72 hours to leave the country.

In a statement on its website, the ministry said the decision to recall its ambassador had come "in light of continued Iranian meddling in the affairs of the kingdom of Bahrain ... in order to create sectarian strife and to impose hegemony and control."

The Gulf Arab kingdom has been cracking down on militants behind recent bomb attacks on security forces that killed several people this year.

Iran denies involvement in any violence in Bahrain.

72 hours is too long.

Kerry should have been there to negotiate a deal. He could have arranged to give the ambassador several million dollars for bomb making material.

It seems Iran has visions of a “Greater Iran”...?

This is very bad.

and European businesses are already in there. Even if the next president killed the deal, the 100 billion would already be there, and they will probably have a crude nuke.

also sanctions will be gone and NO WAY China and Russia will jump on board for sanctions again.

Plus Iran will make a fortune when apple and Microsoft and all the companies that dont give a dam about America start doing big business there.

Iran better be careful. They still have to watch the castle. They are expanding their influence in the region very quickly, while the Russians lock up land that can prevent oil and gas from getting to Europe.

For some reason I get the feeling that the Ukraine was a feint and cutting off resources to the West is the real goal. Especially when they know that we have a feckless IslamoMarxist coward for a President and an Iranian leading the team.

That would be a good strategy from Putin’s point of view.

He killed American trained rebels without thinking twice because he knew nothing would happen.

I dont think the rebels are worth going to war for, but the fact that putin knows obama will never do anything is bad,

Bahrain is a short boat trip from Iran and just across a bridge from Saudi. Recent shi’ite unease in the eastern province of Saudi probably can be traced to Iran....thru Bahrain.
