Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi told FRANCE24 in an exclusive interview on Thursday that he is open to allowing Russia to carry out air strikes against Islamic State group militants in Iraq.

"Not yet. It is a possibility. If we get the offer, we will consider it," Abadi told FRANCE24.

"It is in our interest to share information with Russia. Russia has a lot of information. The more information we gather the more I can protect the Iraqi people," Abadi added.

On Wednesday, Russian warplanes began air strikes in neighbouring Syria, saying it would hit the Islamic State group "and other terrorist groups."

Now, Iraq?

Their complaint is the US Air Support is modest and only minimally effective.

It would be hard to fault them if they shifted protectors to Russia when faced with an existential threat.

What a friggin' disaster Obama has created.

The obama legacy is in tatters.

The loss of Irag, Afghanistan and now the Iraqis almost begging for Russian help.

Another situation we never hear about anymore is BokaHaran terrorizing African Christians. Wasn't Obama going to address that situation, too?

One can only conclude he sides with the terrorists, and no one in DC has the smarts and/or integrity to call him out.

He's abandoning historical and newly hard won allies, and supporting/arming enemies of the American People and Western Civilization.

And, the traitorous Republicans in the US Congress not only do nothing, they are complicit.

Yes, the Obama legacy is:

Cause chaos, blame others and pretending to be an outsider.

It does make me wonder if Iraq allows Russia to “take on” Isis there...how they will handle Russia’s no hold barred actions?

As I recall, every time the US military hit a civilian outhouse in the desert the Iraqi government had kniptions. We were also asked to pull out of areas (Falluja comes to mind) when there was advancement being made and had to go back in later.

I some how don’t think Putin will be so accommodating.

"What I mean is they’ll get it for free."

That's Russia's core enterprise.

Get your conquests for nuthin', and your oil for free.

Hey, we could have done that!

“He’s abandoning historical and newly hard won allies, and supporting/arming enemies of the American People and Western Civilization.”

This is basically what Dick Cheney said.
