The Gwinnett County Fair wrapped up for the year on Sunday, and the Gwinnett GOP conducted a straw poll each day of the event among the fair visitors that stopped by their booth. With slightly less than 400 votes, Donald Trump ended up the winner.
Donald Trump 31.1%
Ben Carson 23.3%
Ted Cruz 11.2%
Carly Fiorina 10.2%
Marco Rubio 8.8%
Jeb Bush 5.6%

It never ceases to amaze me how stupid people are, even Republicans. 3 weeks ago nobody knew of or cared who Carly Fiorina was. Endless media shilling for her has resulted in a steady number of 10% in just about any poll taken. ,

I think Ben Carson is a very nice man, but I do not see in him the spine to deal with problems in the world.
While Obama has been as hollow as a Halloween pumpkin, I want a President who will stand up to Iran, ISIS, Taliban, & all the other crazies who wish to take the world back to the 7th Century.
Also a President who will shut down the redundancy in the current USA government, the EPA, all the Cabinet departments that are no longer necessary. I am pretty sure that there is a department or agency somewhere that is still issuing rules about carriage wheels & buggy whips.
Those departments need to be permanently shuttered. I hope Trump intends to do exactly that.

Every other candidate, donor, and MSM lackey is waffling over that message, and outright attacking Trump for even uttering it, like being a proud American who puts America first is considered a cardinal sin.
Well, I don’t have a problem with it, so AMERICA FIRST! and screw everyone else if they have a problem with that.
On another thread, I read that Trump had bottomed out at 21%! But, on the other hand, although this is a small sample, it seems to me to be pretty representative of the way that the base thinks. I still think, though, that Trump’s support is higher, but then again, a lot of people who like Trump and would support him, still prefer Cruz or Carson as their first choice.

Probably not, but they follow the general trend line of the national polls. It’s instructive to actually see how dumb people are. For years we’ve mocked the liberals for the looneys they have voting, but conservatives are just as bad. There are a lot of dumb republicans out there.

This straw poll sounds very grass rootsy, taken at a county fair, so it is very telling.

FWIW polls of 2011 roughly at this time showed Romney way up...in some tied with Newt. Romney went on to win the nom as we all know.
If Trump maintains he will be the nom. Trump has expert advisors but he is his own worst enemy.
Thanks, Rooster! Yes, this poll sounds more like the true baseline for Trump, imho, and let me say I am almost sure that not everyone for Trump feels that they can SAY they are for Trump. Trump is the naughty boy they can’t get caught hanging out for. But, in the BALLET BOX, look out...
