Ethel Rosenberg, who was executed with her husband for treason in 1953, was honored Monday by the City Council on what would have been her 100th birthday.
Three council members joined Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer in issuing two proclamations lauding Rosenberg, a Lower East Side resident, for demonstrating great bravery in leading a 1935 strike against the National New York Packing and Supply Co., where she worked as a clerk.
The proclamations also said she was wrongfully executed for helping her husband, Julius, pass atomic secrets to the Soviet Union.
A lot of hysteria was created around anti-communism and how we had to defend our country, and these two people were traitors and we rushed to judgment and they were executed, said Councilman Daniel Dromm (D-Queens).

Is the NYC Council Communist?
Ethel and Julius Rosenberg were GUILTY!
I was only a little girl at the time of their arrest and trial, but I followed their case closely in the newspapers, the Reader’s Digest, over radio and on TV.
I even recall their executions!
At least she was an Honest Communist—who died for her belief in a better, World Socialist, Communist planet. Better than a lot of Liberals who would die for nothing—if it caused them any discomfort in their Ivory Towers. So, in a sense she was a Hero—just for the wrong cause.
I will take him to Meshack’s bbq in Garland.
Best bbq EVAH.
They even have non-pork items, but ive never tried them.
GOOD posts ALL, wardaddy!
Take them to heart, MarvinStinson!
“Marvin do you really want the death penalty for pot smokers”
You swallow any lie, don’t you wardaddy.
SHOW ME where I said that.
You can’t — but you swallow it whole.
What other outright lies do you swallow whole?
You just signed up to defend traitors, then and now?
Take your crap to another thread.
ESAD newbie, but then, I think I smell ozone.....
I think I smell clueless Jew Hate.
Take it somewhere else, doorgunner.
A DU troll that will soon trip up.
Disgusting.
Robert and Michael Meeropol in the photo at the link are the Rosenbergs orphaned children. They were given to the care of other Communist friends of their parents, who raised another generation of Communists. Ethel and Julius made sure of that.
"Mos Eisley Spaceport. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious."
Remember when they took to the streets to protest the Eric Garner case? This was the same city council that demanded cops bust people selling “loosies” or single cigarettes. So they were protesting something THEY made cops to do, bust a guy for selling a single cigarette. 4 cops jumping on a guy for selling a single solitary cigarette. Like Ann Coulter said “Nothing comes between a liberal and taxes” So glad I moved the hell out of there, I grew up there and “escaped” 4 years ago. Best thing I ever did. I can barely read about that city today without getting nauseous.
Yes, here you go...They’re protesting something THEY created. THEY run the city with DeBlasio...

I guess next they’ll be making Mumia an honorary citizen of NYC?
Didn’t they already do that in Paris?
Or did they name a street after him?
Yep. they made him an honorary citizen of Paris. A cop killer, an honorary citizen.
