Remember the Teamsters and a good number of other unions endorsed Nixon over McGovern in 1972. The AFL-CIO did not endorse either candidate.

Well back then one thing the Unions didn’t like were hippies and at that time, the Democrats were the “Hippy Party.”

I’m an IBEW union member. You are painting with a pretty broad brush.

A good number of unions supported Nixon in 1972.
The Teamsters, the Marine Engineers, the Seafarers International Union and I think quite a few of the building trades. I remember that at least one old Chicago Alderman and life-long Democrat came out and publicly supported Nixon.

“Dumb as a pallet full of off spec transmission parts.”

Not every union member is that way. I’m an IBEW union member in a red right to work state.

Unions are what they are. I didn’t make them that way. You can work for whoever you like.

You are correct-also the public employee unions were still relatively small compared to the private section unions.

I’m scum?

Hillary is so screwed. She has to go as left as Sanders (keystone) but that hurts unions, sooooo....

Nowhere for her to get votes except from old, angry, white women.

Tsk-tsk...

Do you support unions destroying America via Democrat support? If so, Yes. If not, No. But your dues are going to liberals regardless of your desires.

“Nobody trusts Hillary, except globalist leftists and college professors (who also are liars)”

Don’t forget all the BB-brain females out there who will vote for Her Horribleness because they think she’s a woman.

Federally-protected unions are one of the greatest causes of economic sluggishness. Their thuggery and bullying hinder innovation, cost-cutting, and top quality. Unions are one of the main reasons other countries out-compete American companies.

Trump needs to be on the side of what Walker was proposing: doing away with federal unions and federally protected unions. We’d all be much better off.

Now, if the Teamsters supported him after Trump made that proposal, now THAT WOULD be a miracle.

I was only referring to the fella I was talking about. This is a guy who downright HATES his own son who is a very successful young man. “Mr. Conservative” he calls him, because he he works in finance and makes probably 5 times what Dad makes.

Lots of conservatives I know work at the same plant. They tend to think for themselves. But a sizeable percentage of UAW members here base 100% of their ideology on what the newsletter tells them to think.

I’ve been surprised by the number of new union member applicants that check “republican” on their apps. I haven’t seen any check Democrat. These are young guys - and they do think for themselves.

“I assume Trump has NEGOTIATED w/union officials during his career; however, I seriously doubt he has “collaborated.”

...and, yes, I believe the author deliberately used that word to leave a negative impression.”

You are exactly right. If the MSM can portray Trump in a negative manner at any given point in time, they will.

[First 25% of the black vote, now the teamsters.]

^This is exactly why it’s Trump/Cruz or lose. I’m not a big Trump guy but unlike Beck or many here who don’t get it, Trump is the only one who can pull the cross-over votes and beat the electoral college deficit. I think Trump will surround himself with good advisors ala Sessions and Cruz.

“Nothing will come of it.
Members will vote for him, the leaders will send the members’ money to the Dem.
Like always.”

I disagree with you. When the rank and file get in the voting booth and can vote as they wish, they will vote for Trump. The rank and file disagrees with their leadership a lot. On Trump, they will definitely disagree with their leadership when voting. Joe Lunchbucket is for Trump.
