Brett Stephens in his article, “An Unteachable President” in the Wall Street Journal, makes a serious attempt to construct a rational theory to explain why the president doubles down when he’s losing — and why the public can’t get him to change. ......

It’s a remarkable record of prediction. One hundred percent wrong. The professor president who loves to talk about teachable moments is himself unteachable. Why is that?

Why does he keep doing that? Stephens thinks it’s because Obama is the kind of man who believes the Cold War was won by “peaceful protest”, convinced that “a strategy of retreat and accommodation, a bias against intervention, a preference for minimal responses” is enlightened foreign policy, and most of all believes he is unalterably correct — “on the right side of history” — therefore could never be wrong.

Based on these assumptions naturally the president never learns for how can one improve upon perfection?

Stephens’ theory is marred only by the defect that it can just as well explain madness; ..... Elliot Abrams, listening to Obama’s UN speech, was struck by the oddness of it; the utter separation between the words and actuality. He said “president Obama’s U.N. speech today is filled with nice lines that unfortunately bear no relationship to his seven years of foreign policy — and in some cases, no relationship to reality.”

Like many of Obama’s speech it appeared to float in Eternity, detached from everything tangible. The speech came only hours after the provincial capital of Kunduz fell to the Taliban ......

It comes only days after Iraq opened its airspace to Russian aircraft; after the Pentagon finally found its missing handful of Syrian fighters trained under Obama’s program who defected, together with their arms and ammunition, to al-Qaeda. .......

This would be more accurate if you substituted the words "lazy, ignorant, shiftless, Liberal attitudes."

Obama only supports Islam to the extent that it harms Western society, he doesn't really practice it himself because it requires sacrifice rather than just lazy indulgence and a shirking of actual work or responsibility.

Obama is just a third world mind in a first world nation.

While their policies are disasters, Democrats (especially Obama) have one critical talent: They always get their way. Until the System totally collapses (which it one day might), it is the key to everything.

Someone posted this last year. It makes the same point.

When considering the qualifications for a President, I look for someone who has abandonment issues from both parents and who made it in this rough and tumble world on the basis of his minority background. I also look for someone who has organized and rabble roused through communities that didn't need it. Very Important point... He must have NO EXPERIENCE in any sort of job and must speak well when reading what's written for him. He must be petulant and pissy, with very thin skin.

And someone else commented the other day that

Here’s the correct response to Matthews assumptions regarding Obama...by one who commented under that article.....written so well it’s worth the read here IMO.....

I’d agree with you. Somehow the idea of a less-than-10-y/o kid learning Marxism is bit far-feteched. It would seem like the type of submission Islam demands would be much more “engrainable” if there is such a word. Later on, with Western, Judeo-Christian values totally upended, Marxism could find fertile ground in a skull full of mush.

Last three elections didn’t produce results, Beltway Insiders played their usual games, NOW is the last ditch effort some citizens trying to ‘save our country’.

Obama can’t be analyzed with reason because he is devoid of reason
