Both India and China, I found, believed themselves to be superior by dint of their being such old societies. It's so sad that China still has to lie to try to convince themselves and the world that they still count for something besides longevity.
I sometimes want to ask Chinese-who-moved-to-the-USA-to-live that if their country is so great, why they come here. There are fewer Indians here in my neck of the woods but I would want to ask them the same question.
It wouldn't be nice of me to ask, but I do get annoyed at the faux-superiority.
Both countries DO produce beautiful things and that's a plus. I couldn't say the same for other countries of our planet.
