Putin: "We can no longer tolerate the current state of affairs in the world"
EW YORK - Russian President Vladimir Putin took a defiant tone in his highly-anticipated United Nations address on Monday, ahead of a planned meeting with President Barack Obama.
Putin spent much of the speech delivering the Russian perspective on world affairs, which he said is nothing more than "honest and frank." Putin dismissed many Western officials' expressed fears about Russian expansionism, saying the Kremlin has been accused too often of "growing ambitions."
"It's not about Russia's ambitions but recognition of the fact that we can no longer tolerate the current state of affairs in the world," Putin said.
The Russian president also mocked Western ideals and how they were applied to the Arab Spring, singling out Libya as an example of how things can go wrong. Instead of the promise of democratic reform, "we got violence, poverty and social disaster," Putin said.
Putin said the "export of revolutions" continue to fail.

I don’t believe the intentions of the former soviet union are anything but expansionist. They are not built on the principles of freedom but are, currently, a cowed version of totalitarianism. Yes - I believe we can claim moral superiority because I believe the goal in much if not all of what you listed is founded in the principles of freedom and our own national best interest.

Putin is seizing opportunity because it has been screaming out to him, thanks to Obama. Anyone in his position would do the same.
We will need a loyal AMERICAN president in 2017... to try to pick up the pieces and see what we can salvage of all this.

Our policy is 'no policy'... we spend 500 million dollars to train less than 10 people. We don't understand the culture so we assume 'offering military training' will work. It's won't and it hasn't... not in ANY MUSLIM COUNTRY.
So we offer up our treasure... our young men ... our good will and all for ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. The only people who benefit are top military men, arms producers, those who give medical care at VA hospitals and fools like John McCain who see themselves as BIG MEN.
Our military's good. But when we win we don't know what to do with the win. Can you imagine if after World War II we had built a few schools in Japan, maybe dug some wells, and gave candy to kids... how it would have worked out? Japan would have rearmed and come after us. Same with Germany.
The US is too stupid to fight wars now because we don't know what to do with a victory when we have it. We say, "We won - bring the chaos on... 'cause we're totally clueless'... "Want to rape little boys on the base? Sure we have no cultural or moral underpinnings... )
Putin will stop ISIS... then he'll make a deal with Iran (no - not the kind where he gives them billions and gets nothing) but a grown up deal... and the boot will come down on the people of the ME... maybe forever. But it'll be better than the void - the nothingness - the shifting sand that we left them with...

I think it is important to remember that obama is more a marxist than putin. I remember just 18 months ago when putin was encouraging the building of Christian Churches in russia, saying, ‘the Christians have never caused any problems here. It is the muslims who create the problems.” Obama would never even think such a thing.
