You’re probably better in SC than FL.
It’s going to be more lively there too. Like the saying goes, SC is too small to be it’s own country, too big to be an insane asylum.
Maybe the weaker-minded among them will vote Democrat in their new states to "Save Our Schools" or some such nonsense, but the hardcore Left will never actually leave their Blue State bastions. They are literally terrified of conservatives, and think they risk being shot or "gay-bashed" every time they dare step outside Left-controlled territory.
West side is very nice as is N of Boca Raton on the east.

Depends on your lifestyle...I personally like the little town of Punta Gorda...and area. But we have a home in Broward county and spend about 5-6 months a yr in S. America.
Dont know too much about Orlando. My advice is when you are ready just travel around...get a better look and feel to areas.
