The uncertain terms of the next Republican debate are setting off a wave of anxiety among middle and bottom tier campaigns, with several lashing out at the Republican National Committee for failing to provide clarity on how many candidates will appear on stage..
The campaigns fear the entry criteria for the Oct. 28 debate is being designed to reduce the number of candidates on stage for the third primetime debate -- a life-or-death matter for White House hopefuls on the bubble. While the RNC doesnt set the rules, it does have a voice in working with the networks running the debates. The committee has not said how many candidates will be allowed into the primetime debate, which will be held in Boulder, Colorado, and broadcast on CNBC. Nor are there any indications there will be an undercard event, as there have been in the first two debate showdowns of the primary season

Ditch the undercard debate and cut the big show to 8 candidates.
Stop billionaires from buying candidates and Republicans wouldn’t have this problem.
Agreed. We all know the only reason Linda Graham decided to run was to try to keep either Cruz or Trump from becoming the nominee.
The cutoff line will include bush
Who needs another debate? I can already tell you that Carly Forina and Lindsey Graham will whip Trump’s ass, and the 3rd debate will be the end of Trump’s viability as a candidate.
At least that’s what all the mainstream media will tell us. I’m sure the stories have already been written.
I can’t understand how having the RINO vote split up assists RINOS in winning? Graham certainly isn’t going to siphon off any votes or money from those guys.
Absolutely no reason to be wasting debate time on several of the <1%ers
Miss Lindsey, Pataki, Gilmore and even Ronpauls baby boy have already peaked.
I still maintain that these are setups to knock off Trump, and that he needs to find a way to dodge these and set up his own “mini-debates” with Carson and Cruz and a moderator like Michelle Malkin. He could pay for an hour. They would be hugely watched, more than the “regular” GOP debate.
I’ll bet they find a way to exclude cruz.
11 is too, too many for the main stage. I’m fine with adding more to the undercard debate. It should be an even split between the two.
Malkin hates Trump and the feeling is mutual.
At this point in the debate, the original architects were certain the field would be much smaller.
There are some obvious contenders who should be dropping out - right now. Though they have (or believe they have) valid and important messages, the inclusion of The Donald in the first place knocked that all into a cocked hat, with the great storm against illegal and undocumented squatters now within the territory once known as “the United States of America”, the demonstrated incompetence of those who claim to be in illusionary charge of that territory, the very bad deals negotiated by those claimants, and the overall crash of the economy of the territory.
Yup should be no more than 5 on stage the rest go home.
Am I the only one who hates these debates and considers them a waste of time? Just let the candidates go out on the campaign trail and address the voters in rallies or town hall meetings. No need for these stupid “moderators” to ask gotcha questions - especially when a couple of the candidates have advance knowledge of the questions. I find it all such a farce. Who wins is a subjective notion - the MSM will always say a RINO won - so, what does this accompish? Nothing except a waste of my time.
Trump doesn’t need these debate I would tell them to go pound sand and watch their rating crater.
why does Malkin hate Trump? Haven’t heard much from her lately anyway.
LOL! Wouldn't that be delicious!
Yeah. Lincoln and Douglas should never have agreed to them.
That was a one-on-one, which would be okay for the R versus the D candidate. There are way too many of these debates and they become boorish.
