It’s not a fraudulent story: I went and checked the FEC filings and checked the FEC document link.
What it is is a hit piece trying to throw shade on the Cruz campaign. RFAIs from the FEC are disturbingly common. So common in fact, they have a FAQ page! http://www.fec.gov/rad/FederalElectionCommission-RAD-RespondingtoRFAIs.shtml#why

Again, I would very much like to hear the reason for this large donation, but none of this is illegal.
So candidate X would then likely know his alleged pro-political PAC “fund” quickly dropped by $500,000?
Maybe that too would be secret information. I really don’t know about these insider organizations. Just curious.
Isn’t $500k about the amount Carly finally paid for her senate race debts right before entering this one?
He’s (or she’s)allowed to know about expenditures, they just aren’t allowed to direct those expenditures in any way and the expenditures can’t be to their official campaign organization.
I’m sure Cruz was notified at some point about the donation just as Carly was notified about the sudden influx of cash.
Let me see if I can clarify this:
Bad:
Ted Cruz: “Hey, Keep the Promise I, give 500,000 to Carly so she stays in the race. I like her spirit.”
OK:
Keep the Promise I finance guy: “ Hey Ted we gave 500,000 of your war chest to Carly”
Ted: “You rat bast-—s!” ( Ok I’m just ad libbing that bit. Sorry!)

Nailed it. It's a GOPe PAC who lied to its donors saying they'd back Cruz. Then they stole the money and gave it to GOPe candidates. Classic bait and switch scheme. And since this one is affiliated with Glenn Beck, you know it's a RINO PAC.

I’m willing to wager that PACs have given money to other PACs before. Doesn’t this show their independence from teh candidates?

In fact, in HILLARY! UNCENSORED, we documented the greatest campaign finance fraud ever. I watched her campaign finance chairman, David Rosen, lying his ass off and being acquitted in a Los Angeles courtroom. Hillary filed four false FEC reports, the last of which was done after a conciliation agreement and fine of 35K. She made a deal and still lied. And she has never paid a price other than the small fine.

If the Super Pac supporting Cruz sees a tactical advantage in supporting Carly, as an attack dog or vote splitter, this makes sense.
Only this time, the Mob walked the loot over to the other stooge in broad daylight, instead of doing it on the sly. That’s how confident they are that the little chess game to nominate Bush would go unnoticed.
That is, until Trump comes along and spoils the little splitter strategy devised to elect Jeb. They had to promote Carly the Splitter to Carly the Hitter, so her role became more visible as it shifted from divide votes to putting the heat on Trump.
Is Cruz in on this? I dunno, but he isn’t allowed to tell the Super Pac what to do. I think it’s possible Cruz has left the GOPe reservation, and the money guys are playing their own games.
This election is interesting, if nothing else.
