RCP does NOT use all polls. They use their own criteria on which polls to use for averaging.
Do you know which other candidate running for 2016 nomination would not kill to get Trump’s number, even the 24 number which excludes many other polls with much higher numbers for Trump?

That is true.
But my experience is that they pick the best of the polls. While you very often see bias in the individual polls I’ve not detected that sort of thing with RCP. In fact the averaging of the polls tends to cancel out those biases.
I believe their criteria is based on an analysis of the polls for sample size, error margins and the makeup of the sample population.

I’m not picking on Trump.
I’m just pointing out that his current poll numbers have been, for a relatively brief time, been higher than they are now. That’s just a fact. So I don’t understand why Trump is making such a fuss. Polls go up and down. Right now he’s down a bit. No big deal.

That makes me doubly glad that I don't even remember when I stopped watching the mainstream alphabet networks. I do wish I could remember when I quit smoking. That's something I wish I could celebrate.
