Because college kids want to learn about transgender studies and evil white racism rather than pursuing fields that will earn them guaranteed six figures.

Ok Are you going to keep trashing Americans until I become Cruz supporter? It ain't working.

Our education system, particularly colleges and universities, is simply corrupt, wasteful, and promotes a leftist agenda. These young adults are spending thousands of dollars learning to hate America and taking asinine courses about African-American studies, gender studies, or Sociology rather than learning engineering, medicine, science, etc.

Cruz's plan provides a stop-gap now while laying the foundation for the future later - for Americans.

All evidence and stated positions of the Senator say otherwise.

Look, I get it. You are set in your opinion that Cruz isn’t your guy. I doubt there’s anything I can do to change your mind. But the purpose of FR is to make sure that the good news of conservatives is spread far and wide.

So, I will continue to post links proving that Senator Cruz is the conservative candidate we need.

I like Cruz—but Santorum was right. Just posting misinformation over and over again isn’t the way to go, even if you think it helps “your” candidate.

Cruz doesn’t advocate citizenship for illegals, but he does advocate amnesty for them via legalization. It’s as simple as that.

There are some other immigration measures that are good and that he backs. But he also advocates amnesty for a majority of the approximately 30 million illegals here presently.

Again, please quote me one thing that says the Senator supports legalization or amnesty.

Cruz's plan does not do this. In fact, it cracks down on it. He is NOT allowing Silicon Valley and Microsoft from hiring Apu and his relatives from India to come here and take regular tech and customer service jobs from Americans, while Americans train them. [...] I’m not a Cruz supporter. I’m not supporting anyone because I don’t trust anyone right now.

If you don't trust anyone, how can you trust Cruz' claims about how H-1B would work under his presidency?

Wages is a generic term for remuneration. What kind of pinhead thinks I meant hourly wages? Are you some kind of moron or something?

Ok I will use the specific term 'salary' if you are going to split hairs.

Well, for me, it’s a question of Constitutional loyalty. Cruz as president has pledged to stop the Obama (and Bush, and Clinton) practice of executive overreach via executive order.

Cruz, even if he still wanted to increase H1B visas, cannot do so. SO, if this is truly an issue for people to focus on, they should be focused on where their Congressional representatives stand on increase the limit of H1B visas.

Short answer: President Cruz can only enforce the laws passed by Congress. He’s got plenty of those to work with and I’m sure they will keep him very busy.

That’s not germane to the debate.

Well, this is all new to me.

I never processed an H1B for an hourly wage earner.

People need to take a few minutes and read all the messages I have sent. The truth is H1B’s are SALARIED. And, as an engineer; project engineer, linear engineer, you make a whole lot more than $16,000.

I never saw any of this information during the time I was processing that type of Visa.

If somebody in the Labor Dept as changed the H1B to include hourly wage earners, it’s news to me.

So presidents have negligible effect on legislation? Since Congress passes the budgets, presidential candidates' budgetary positions are thus basically irrelevant?

The CIS seems to use "wage" as basically synonymous with "salary" - odd, I agree, but not enough to dismiss the substance of their facts.

as an engineer; project engineer, linear engineer, you make a whole lot more than $16,000.

The $16,000 is a salary DIFFERENCE - you need to take a few minutes and read.

I'm sorry, it's not.

All I'm doing is recognizing that Cruz recognizes a serious and long-term problem. That has nothing to do whether or not that I trust him or will influence my vote otherwise.

Cruz recognizes a serious and long-term problem.

So he says - but he hasn't said he recognizes that the current H-1B legislation allows exactly the low-salary dronery we're seeing ... that is, that it's not "abuse" of the law but bad law.

There are more STEM grads than jobs

So why aren't these grads fighting for these jobs then?

The answer is, they've decided to take a detour doing other stuff. They want to be hipsters, bitching about capitalism, attending Bernie Sanders rallies, and strumming guitars on city street corners.

Or, they're up to their eyeballs in student loan debt and the STEM jobs see them as a credit risk and won't hire them.
