Fox’s Roger Ailes to Sit Down with Donald Trump to Discuss Coverage
Mediaite ^ | September 24th, 2015 | Alex Griswold

Posted on 09/24/2015 11:03:59 AM PDT by monkapotamus

Only a day after Donald Trump announced that he was boycotting Fox News— and after Fox News announced they had cancelled him first– the network has announced that they will enter talks with Trump to discuss his concerns.

Below is the full statement, provided to Mediaite by a Fox News spokesperson:

Fox News Chairman & CEO Roger Ailes and Donald Trump spoke this morning and plan to have a meeting next week to discuss their differences of opinion regarding Fox’s coverage of Mr. Trump’s presidential campaign. Ailes will be joined by senior Fox editorial executives. Mr. Trump believes he has been treated unfairly in certain instances. FOX News has held every candidate in this race to the highest journalistic standards throughout our coverage. We believe a candid meeting about our differences is required and that any misunderstandings can be handled without compromising those standards.

Okay, where are the pinheads who were here yesterday saying Trump was acting like a child? Folks, you simply don’t have the tools to grasp how negotiating is done. Trump gets results. 24 hours and he’s got the top dog on the line. Name one other candidate that could have pulled this off.

Exactly!! Most people don't know negotiating tactics if it bit them on the butt. Trump brings massive ad revenue...MONEY....whenever he appears. He's got huge (HUGE!) amounts of leverage over networks and news channels.

People think he's being "whiny"...oh not at all. People simply aren't used to a political candidate telling the news media how THEY should treat and characterize him. That's the problems with almost all Republicans. They let the media and left define them and just take it. Not Trump.

but his attacks on press commentators

Newt used the attack on the press very effectively, probably could have pulled off a win except he sat down and shut up, guess he wasn't supposed to win.

Yeah, but you could not have told that doofus Lowry that.

Trump won that battle, but FOX reports, you decide. I did, and Snarly lost.

I am a gal and I know when a gal gets Trumped.

I would wager Fox is more scared of Trump than any of the others. They attacked him once, plead mea culpa, and then attacked him three times as hard. If I were Trump, I would black them out. They won’t stop trashing him. They already proved that with their second round of attacks, so cost them 10’s of millions of dollars in ad revenue.

Norm

1. One winds up with single payer, the government, very few policies, you’re stuck with what we’ve got available for you, no competition, no impetus to improve

2. One winds up with a myriad of private sector insurance company players, competitive diversified polices, and more competitive rates

By what possible stretch of the imagination are these two similar to you?

Are you simply not thinking in these terms, or do you still disagree even now?

I honestly can’t understand your point of view on this.

I agree with your take there. It’s a little self-serving since it feeds my premise, but we see this in similar terms.

And I’m blown away by every alleged conservative who is not screaming for Cruz to adopt Trump’s vicious and cruel and SUCCESSFUL tactics against his greatest enemy now: the media.

Nope not going to do that
Might make them mad.

Keep Trump in perspective or be a guy at the right wing Pillars of Styro chanting “Yes Don Can!”

Styrofoam pillars for The Donald? LOL Haven't you heard that The Donald is worth about 10 billion? When the majority is gathered at right wing pillars shouting "Yes Don Can!" It will be at genuine Marble Pillars and the Don will be kicking over and out the styrofoam pillars last used by the previously styrofoam occupant of the White House!

Beats me. I’m opting for OAN free as long as I can and just listen when the video quality isn’t good enough to suit me.

Trump's decision to "boycott" Fox seemed childish and ridiculously thin-skinned on his part.

If Cruz was a little more childish he wouldn't be at 6%. You people are beginning to sound a lot like Tokyo Rove.

On second thought, I don’t believe Roku has a fee other than its initial cost. So, the payment is probably made directly to OAN directly...I suppose.

I don’t think he’s going to give them a free ride, but he will come to a deal with them IMO.

There’s more to keep them in line if you go back, than if you don’t go back.

Now perhaps you have to lay down the law and demand they keep the negative comments factual and lay off the propaganda or else. You have to leave that option on the table.

If you leave, they have not reason not to go nuclear on you.

You don’t have to stay and watch it though. If FoxNews doesn’t watch it, they’ll be out for the duration.

If there is no difference in individual biases then it makes no difference who is giving us the news. However, Kelly from my viewpoint is always trying to show how clever she is as to any news, pro or con.

Actually, that's what appeared to happen! Except instead of shutting up, he changed the Florida primary election subject to NASA and space exploration..........huh............?

If there is no difference in truth, and since there is only one ‘truth’ possible per issue, then why would one WANT bias of any sort?

If on the other hand you want entertainment in your news, that exists now.

When you make a statement that all should be covered, you default to someone paying for it. Thats where we are now.

When you put govt in charge of healthcare, which is what wrecked it, you get what we have now.

When you say ‘all should/must/will’, then government hyperregulation has to follow. Has to.

When government gets between a doc/patient directly, or via insurance rules and regsa, people die.

There is one solution. Get govt the F’ out to the ultimate extent. Out of insurance, out of regulation and out of control.

Before this madness, more people were insured at less cost with fewer regs. Default to that. Then work on the rest. Not don’s way or the highway. Or Barrys. Or anyone elses. Want ins? Buy it. Want to go out of pocket, do it. And NO interference between doctor and patient via regs.
