GOP voters are ready to move into Trump Tower

In his 1987 book “The Art of the Deal,” Donald Trump tells the story of how he targeted an 11-story building in Manhattan as a prize location, worked his magic to buy the property, and transformed it into what is now the 58-story glitzy, ritzy Trump Tower.

Twenty-eight years later, he found another opportunity ripe for development — the Republican Party.

It wasn’t a difficult conquest. Years of weak Republican leadership, lack of a unified rallying cry and scores of unhappy investors — or in this case, voters — made the GOP ripe for the picking. It wasn’t even a hostile takeover. He just walked right in.

As summer turns into fall and Trump continues to hold his front-runner status, the Republican establishment is wringing its hands over what Trump is doing to the Republican brand. But you can’t damage a brand that doesn’t exist.

Republican voters have gotten used to seeing House Speaker John Boehner — who has a penchant for crying in public — and Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell hold press conferences after getting out-maneuvered by President Obama and the Democrats again and again on a variety of policy issues.

I'm just finishing The Art of the Deal (have read other of his books) and frankly don't see how anyone can stop him.

He is relentless, energetic, and smart.

Even his spat with Fox is probably according to his longer-term strategy.

What still amazes me if how average Americans got it right away and the Krauthammers and Wills just can't get their heads around it.

The only thing that Trump can do to the Republican brand is repair it. It's been so damaged by the so called leadership of the party and the washington DC governing class that it's on life support.

If they weren't so terminally stupid the leaders of the party would be on their knees thanking God that a real leader has come along, carrying their banner and re-instilling a sense of pride and purpose in their base. American's realize the damage that's been done to our country and they're/we're furious about it. But most importantly we want to make America great again!

I think Trump is making a huge mistake by concentrating on a Pissing contest with Fox News instead of concentrating on getting the Nomination.

Keep your eye on the ball, Don.

It's said so often that it's cliche now, but it's as true as it ever was. The establishment live in a bubble. They have NO idea...not a frigging clue...what REAL AMERICANS think, want and expect from their government. Not a clue!

Yeah it’s stunning to me that they can get away with this rhetoric about the “damage” he’s doing to their brand, when he’s packing in stadiums, drawing massive ratings, killing it in media mentions, and opening up new fronts for the Party demographically with blacks and working class whites. I think with his platform, you could easily see a realignment where the Republicans get the white vote 70/30, then around 40% of each of the minority groups (black, Latino, Asian, gay, etc.). If you run the numbers on that, you’ll see that would add up to an electoral landslide.

Trump is a man with a plan. He's playing Fox for publicity.

He's done this since the 70's.

Believe me, he's got his eye on nothing but the ball. Trump is obsessively goal oriented. It may not always be apparent to others, but this is how he wins.

Right, nor do they care.

They are very smart men. They know exactly what is happening.
They are just on the other side from the citizens.
They are being paid to try to influence us to vote for Cheap Labor Express candidates.
The RNC has already been paid for an amnesty candidate.
