Nobody explained the crack-up of the New Deal coalition better than New York Mayor Ed Koch at the 1980 Democratic convention:

My daughter and her boyfriend were assaulted in Charlotte NC... Two young college kids going home from work. They made some mistakes which escalated the situation... We had a discussion about street smarts and personal defense. We also had a discussion about years of rule by mob democrats. ...and maybe the city isn’t their best option right now.

Personally, having lived in cities, the suburbs and the country, I will take the country anytime. I know almost all of my neighbors, their dogs names and many of the kids names going by on their bicycles (their numbers seem to increase from year to year, must be something in the water). I can leave my doors unlocked and the keys in the ignition of my vehicles. Leaving home for a day or two, my home is protected by my neighbors who know I am away. When our garden fails to provide some of the things we need, the neighbors drop off some of their “extras”. The only sound we hear at night is the howling of wolves and/or coyotes. Guess living in the country isn’t so bad.
Send that loud mouthed judge to live in Ferguson. Black Crime Matters.

Few things last forever. Both political parties are in for an awakening. We are now in the end game of the socialist revolution that began over a hundred and twenty years ago.
Some nations were converted to socialism quickly, and some like the United States took a long time but we are almost there.
The problem is it does not work. Human nature will eventually demand that those that produce get to keep more than those that don’t. If not, the producers simply quit producing.
The reason the old Soviet Union could not feed itself is because the farmers had no reason to excel. If good workers do not get something for being good, they fall back to the lowest common denominator (which explains the work ethics of public employees).
By providing security to western Europe they were spared the expense of providing for their own security and used that savings to create a softer form of socialism.
Yet for all the sacrifices of blood and gold over the past century, the United States have been vilified. There are some who wished the United States did not exist. Well they may soon get their wish.
When the real face of the Muslim invasions is revealed, the United States may not be in any shape to rescue them, again. They will pay a bloody price for their foolishness.
As predicted we are not being conquered by a foreign army (unless you count the invasion by illegals) but by the 5th column traitors that have taken over all forms of our government, and our media.
The unthinkable just a few years ago has happened in this nation, those things that had once made us great are being attacked and destroyed by our own government.
Free speech, not any more. Say something that the elite does not like and they will let loose the hounds on you and if that does not shut you up the full weight of the federal government will.
Free association. Not any more.
Entrepreneur - Possible but much more difficult and costly with all the taxes, laws and regulations.
We now have “thought crimes” where others are allowed to redefine any action or words and then convict you of a hate crime. When did this become possible? Well, it was necessary if you expect to force socialism on a world that does not want it.
As it stands now, neither party is representing the American people, true they may be representing the interest of one segment or another, but often by doing so, they do it at a disadvantage of others. Is that really what governments are for?
The American people are resilient and can absorb a lot of punishment and then rebound. The question is how much are we going to take before the push back begins.
Regardless if Trump wins or loses, he has provided two valuable services, one he has exposed the Republican party for what it is, a weaker version of the Democrat party, and two, has shown when attacked for speaking the truth, NEVER BACK DOWN, NEVER APOLOGIZE. That is how the left has gotten as far as they have. They use words to demonize those that disagree and make us fearful of speaking out.
Maybe it is time we embraced those labels the left like to use so much, HOMOPHOBIC, RACIST, SEXIEST and so on.
The Democrat party today is made up of illegals, gays, muslims and an assortment of foreign terrorist coddling groups. The rest of white and black liberal Americans are fewer and fewer + or - abortions
I think that after the French Revolution the bourgeois replaces the king and the left replaced the church, and just like the king and the church fought each other, so are we seeing this nowadays between left and right, except the right is now bending over, hoping the tyranical left will help it force people to buy cheap Chinese products for a few pieces of silver.

One thing to contemplate, though. The soviet union also died as a result of an entrenched black market. Socialism fails faster when no one obeys the edicts of the apparatchiks.
Interesting article, and as an fyi - it was David Frum who (as a former GWB speech writer) came up with the phrase ‘Axis of Evil’ which was a good descriptor of the terrorist states of Iraq, Iran and North Korea, unfortunately GWB only had enough balls to go after Saddam and Iraq.

You may also want to them that the media imposes a virtual blackout on black-on-white crime in the cities, so as to “protect the reputation” of big-city mayors and to also “avoid stereotyping of certain minority groups”. In other words, should have personally reviewing police reports, there is NO WAY to tell if a given city is safe anymore - and like you say, the best option is to simply stay clear when possible, and be very careful when you do go (as in using taxis rather than walking or buses). And don’t expect things to get much better either with the terrorists now being invited in to our country.

The incompetent Black Democrats who run Baltimore have rubbed salt in the eyes of White and descent Black people in their city by destroying its police department. The trials could be interesting. They will have 6 separate trials and the judge so far as refused to move the trials elsewhere. So majority-minority juries can acquit the three black cops and find the three white cops guilty. That will please the Democrat base and the media will applaud but the average citizen won’t.
