LOL! that’s it!
Gov Christie is right in doing what he did. There are physical fitness standards the General - not Christie - has to meet in order to stay in uniform. It was NJ reporters who requested the General’s physical fitness tests from the Pentagon under the FOIA. They requested information after seeing the General repeatedly in uniforms that didn’t fit. Additionally, this General and his deputy are under investigation for other matters. Sad.
A friend in the reserves back in the 90s had a rough time with his last couple of annual weigh-ins; he finally gave it up and moved on...
PUHLEEEEEZE....I just finished dinner dammit...I really didn’t need that. I saw thwe link a few posts earlier and I]m sitting here thinking...
I’m not clicking on that I’m not clicking on that...
True the military does now have weight requirements, and someone should tell him he’s not exempt. But Christie is not the person to do it...not until he loses about 60lbs himself...
Damn, now I have to go wash my mind out with soap...
Wow.
He had finished four years of active duty, and tired of spending one month of each year on crash diets to make weight; once he finished college he packed it in.
Another friend in the Marines described the annual physical; it sounded more daunting. They probably don’t even make Marine uniforms the size of the tent on that guy in the picture. I’m a fat slob, but that guy must have to tailor a poncho to fit him.
Good one.
At some point in the mid-1980s, I had to go and play in some military exercise in Germany. They’d brought over a number of Air Force reservists from New York and New Jersey. So, I’m in some bunker area and there’s this guy....at least 50 years old...walks into the room wear a customized Khaki uniform (you can tell it’s fitted to him)...and he has to weigh in the 350-to-380 pound range. The German hosts had to go out and find a special chair for the guy and he just kinda stood around for the whole exercise.
Christy isn’t in the military. Some fat old guy in the military needs to come into standards or face UCMJ action. It’s just the way it is!
