“Operation Hummingbird” an identifier given (by me) to describe a very strategic approach of Karl Rove in getting Jeb Bush the republican nomination. “Hummingbird” describes a very a specific strategy to overcome a hurdle currently blocking Rove’s path, Donald Trump. Often it is easier to use a descriptive term, rather than spend 300 words having to re-explain a strategy as it expands and becomes increasingly visible over time.

You are right about the name being interesting. Watch a hummingbird. Tiny creatures long beaks. They dart in quick and out quick. In quick and out quick. FiaRINO and RINOrubio et. al., small numbers of supporters but they will attack Trump quickly and back away quickly. Numerous little jabs and if they need help, I’m certain other GOPe controlled subordinates will join in. Like a lot of little hummingbirds trying to make their marks all over Trump. Just like that Alfred Hitchcock movie, The Birds.
If Hillary is in trouble (which it certainly appears she is) then Bush is toast.
With virtually no grass roots support, his only path to the nomination was crossover Dems looking to install the softest target for November.
Now Dems will probably be told to vote in their own primaries next spring, either to save Hillary or defeat her in favor of Team Chicago.
