The Actors on ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Exemplify Everything That’s Wrong With Liberalism
IJ Review ^ | 22 Sep 2015 | Kurt Schlichter

The most political show on television today involves shambling ghouls that feed on human flesh and the meat puppets who try to avoid being feasted upon. “Fear the Walking Dead,” the “Walking Dead” spin-off set at the beginning of the zombie outbreak, offers us a view of the liberal, sensitive type of people who put Obama into office and – probably inadvertently – demonstrates the utter moral and intellectual bankruptcy of everything they believe in.

Modern liberalism is an unfortunate byproduct of civilization. The fact that our lives are not largely devoted to hunting and gathering food and fighting off marauders who would rape, enslave, and/or kill us, allows a large segment of our society to forget that this is the natural state of man. You didn’t have liberals in the Dark Ages because a liberal would last about ten seconds, expiring with a spear through his guts after telling the local warlord that he disapproved “of this patriarchal, phallocentric, cisnormative power structure.”

Now, of course a substantial number of Americans pay tribute to humanity’s past by understanding human nature and often by preparing to confront the forces of chaos. These people are conservatives. We conservatives expect problems, and expect that we will have to solve them ourselves. We generally know how to hunt, to gather food, and we have guns and know how to use them. And we understand that society always – always – teeters on the edge of falling apart.

The popularity of the zombie-apocalypse eludes me.

Yep, I want a do over on this show. Eat them all and get a new set of core characters. At least get rid of the drugee son, the execrable daughter and the walking victim father. I was hoping that the morphine addict would not come back from the military hospital, but I know his “struggle” is central to the show, so he will be back.

I really don’t like seeing disgusting things, so I don’t spend my free time looking at that stuff. However, there’s a point here. Read City of God by Augustine for further details.

I’ve watched it but won’t miss it after the season finale.

Liberal social worker worker living with liberal new wife/teacher and heroin addicted son forced to live with ex wife, son and conservative former in laws while the military is “protecting” them.

Don't start watching the show. You might get hooked like I did.

It's a good example on what could happen if there was an EMP attack or some catastrophic event like that. Survival of the fitness.

So far the characters on FTWD are the polar opposites of the TWD crew. I keep waiting for the FTWD people to begin to face reality and man up and for the worthless teens to grow up.

As it stands now i’m rooting for the FTWD zombies.

Shows that demonstrate the end of the world while keeping the “Sex and the City + Dawson’s Creek” attitudes are ridiculous. If the people on both Walking Deadn and Fear the Walking Dead acted way they do on the show, they’d have been dead a dozen times over.

I think the show is intentionally demonstrating the weaknesses of liberal culture. My guess is that the show is working up to the climatic destruction of liberalism.

So far, I find nothing appealing about any of the main characters. Each episode finds me wishing they’d meet their demise. The remaining episodes of this season better pick it up, or I won’t stick around for the next season.

It’s a completely different perspective than TWD...if you go into it knowing that, it’s pretty good at showing how the uninformed “respond” to the growing crisis.

I rather enjoy watching them slowly, oh so slowly, start to realize that all is not what it seems...

“People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.”
-George Orwell

FTWD is off to a piss poor start.
At times have to claim “Filial Supremacy”.
Ruben Blades is way cool, hope they don’t kill him off too quickly.

They killed off all the black folks already.
What’s up with that?

A lot of the politically correct elements are infuriating:
* the white girl dates a black guy, the hispanic druggie has a white girlfriend, yawn, push the envelope with a hispanic guy with the BLACK girlfriend
* the white woman is competent and in charge as a school counselor, the wise latina mother is protecting her son and working as a nurse, but the guy is mostly incompetent. “You thought you saw a light, I’ll just dismiss everything you say until I finally bother to check myself”, does nothing without needling or begging or pushes by the women
* your afraid the power is out, but you don’t bother to stock up on water or food from the dead neighbor’s house - and you live in a state where people have to be prepared if only due to earthquakes
* you saw people eating people and still get antsy about guns
* the military leader has already been hinted at for going crazy

Fear is a big snoozer. It’s just a boring soap opera. Lots of liberal talk and virtually no action. Also boring unlikeable characters. I still haven’t learned anyone’s name on the show and wouldn’t miss any character for 5 seconds if they became zombie bait next episode.
