New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio reacted to Rubio’s remarks and suggested he should go back and reread Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount.

Nowhere in the Sermon on the Mount does it say one group of officials must force people to pay for others in need.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio believes that the government knows best, not God. He apparently believes that he is supposed to lord over the hard working tax paying citizens of NYC so he has the money to help those he believes are in need.

Thank you for being the only one so far who has actually addressed the real issue. The rest here have reacted like Liberals would.

You are so right.

The Bible never said...send a dollar to a government so they could keep 70 cents of it and distribute the remainder in questionable ways.

I worked with a very left church going guy. He told me that conservatives ignored Jesus telling us to take care of the poor when they were against raising taxes. I told him he was telling the people to be charitable, but I asked him to show me where he told Cesar to take the people’s money to give to the poor. That shut him up.
