The war on ILLEGAL DRUGS has NOTHING to do with the death of that woman.

See post #26.

Prescription drugs are legal IF you follow the prescription. Abuse of prescription drugs is illegal and can land you in jail just like street drugs. In fact some are peddled in the same way by the same creeps.

The mother being mad is sad but irrelevant. Carly is married to the natural father. She had to be affected by it.

Well for your sake, so you don’t have an aneurism, she should check.with an advisor on every single word she says in the future to ensure that her words are impeccably technically correct.

Thanks for the repost of that. I read it the other day. From the article:

According to Todd Bartlem, there is nothing surprising in Carly's tendency to place herself at the front and center of every narrative.

'She is pathologically narcissistic and all she cares about is her,' he said. 'Nothing holds together with her.

'I got kind of suspicious of her towards the end of the marriage because she had no old friends. She had nobody that she knew in the past, and I thought, "God that's kind of weird."'

Today Bartlem believes the reason lies in Carly's 'modus operandi' of 'dropping people' as soon as they have fulfilled their useful purpose in her life. Certainly it's what he believes happened to him.

'I had no utility and that's what the judgment was,' he said. 'If you aren't useful to her, your time is over. She learned that in business school. I was heartbroken. It was brutal.'

Me talking: I believe Fiorina used her adult step-daughter's death as a political prop. To convey clout on the subject. To garner sympathy. To score political points. To stop the discussion. Who can argue with her after that? Who's gonna have the balls? SHE buried HER daughter.

I knew at the time of the debate it was her step-daughter, but I didn't know her step daughter's death was from legal drugs. And she didn't BURY her. She was an ADULT step-daughter. It sounds like the daughter was primarily raised by her biological mom. The step-daughter was married. CF did not bury her. She left out some of this because it wasn't convenient for her narrative. It wouldn't have gotten her as many points if she gave the full picture.

So I guess because of her personal anecdote we can now stop the discussion about marijuana, state's rights, and the WAR on drugs at large. This is a tactic the left uses all the time to shut down debate. I don't like it when they do it. I don't like when "our side" does it.

Every 4 years FR gets unbearable. You just have to mostly ignore the threads till after the nomination is decided. Political debate is when all humans are at their worst. Including conservatives.

Thank you for reminding me (post 57). Carly started out talking about drug addiction, if I remember correctly. That was the part about the daughter dying that served as an intro to the topic.

Still, prescription drugs by definition are illegal when abused.

Carly is mentioning the fight against drug addiction, not necessarily the war on drugs.

Not sure why you're addressing me on that dude. The post you're replying to had to do with the false impression Carly attempted to leave others with - one I MYSELF was left with, until I actually looked into it.

So, what he’s basically saying is that she is the female version of Obama? Sounds like it.

I grew up in a “broken” home. My parents divorced when I was eleven. My mother remarried several times. My father remarried after I was grown. Four siblings. We all lived with my father. He had a long time girlfriend when we were kids. My mother HATED her. My mother had a prescription drug problem, too, btw.

My situation has some differences and similarities. My main point is that in split families, it is VERY common for the exes to hate the newbies. When children are involved there can be intense and unreasonable hatred for any involvement of the newbie with the kids. They can’t win. My mother hated that my dad’s girlfriend was nice to us. She would make prank phone calls and tell her that when she died (my mother) she would have her ashes sprinkled over her house and haunt her. LOL. I can laugh. It was not funny to the girlfriend.

The mom being mad is sad. I do not give that too much weight.

I know everyone has got their opinion, but I don’t get a good feeling from her. That wasn’t my perception of her, totally, at the beginning when I first started looking into her a few weeks ago. After seeing the second debate, that changed dramatically. She may never have served in a public way, but she’s ALL politician. And I’m not gonna jump on her bandwagon because her sex matches mine. I need some substance, and I don’t like what I see from her.

I’ve been impressed with the way Fiorina handles herself in the media. But, in the last debate, she didn’t come across as well, IMHO.

And then the story of her “daughter” got me wondering. This isn’t the first time she’s referred to her husband’s daughter as “our daughter.” That gives the wrong impression, as if the mother wasn’t in the picture after the divorce. Carly is sharp; she must know that’s the impression she’s giving.

another thing, it’l like health websites dont want to give an answer on that :)

i’ve done a lot of searching but they all say the same thing. Body gets used to it. Even WedMd and some other big ones.

Maybe they think it’s beyond the grasp of the average joe?

what would be me :)

I took just .5mg of prescription clonazapam (your drug) for one year. And it still was horrific getting off it. Just say no to this class of drugs.

I totally get what you are saying. I think your perception of what CF was trying to score w/her narrative is accurate.

Hah -

OK, let’s say you like your cereal with a certain amount of milk.

If you’re eating your cereal just as you like it, and I come along and dumb 3 cups of CornFlakes into your bowl, it would no longer be how you like it.

SO ... you would just put more milk in your bowl, to make the milk/cereal ratio the way you like it.

Same thing with short term drug tolerance. Your body says “wow, if I’m dull, dumb and stupid, I’m going to die because if a tiger comes at me, I won’t even notice’ ... so, it very quickly learns to adjust - it puts out more adrenaline, probably starts collecting serotonin (re-uptaking serotonin) - in short, it puts out more stress chemicals, releases less calm chemicals.

With salt, it says “holy shiite! there is way to much salt in me, but if I just ALSO have more water in me, then it won’t matter’

This is why alcoholics get the shakes and can go into seizures during withdrawal -> their bodies are trained to NOT release calming drugs (because they are getting TOO MUCH calm from the booze) ... but also, their bodies have learned to flood with adrenaline to try to compensate for the alcohol.

So - the body is always trying to balance, so that you have a good amount of calm, but a good amount of alertness. Just like if I put a bunch of dry cereal in your bowl, you will say, well, I’ll just put more milk in and all will be well.

The problem is this: If instead of me being the one putting the dry cereal in your bowl ... and instead there are 2 parts to you: part of you likes pouring more and more cereal in your bowl , but part of you keeps wanting to balance all that new cereal with new milk, then you have the addictive cycle.

The part of you that likes pleasure keeps putting some happy-drug in your body, but the unconscious part of you that cares about survival and alertness then says WTF!! and puts more stress-drug into your body to balance, then the part that likes pleasure says WTF!!!!! and puts more happy-drug in and so on and so on ...

Then you say ‘oh this isn’t good at all, this will never end and the drugs/booze never really make me happy except for a short period of time!!!! (because your body has now gotten really good at adapting to what it considers a dangerous situation) so you say ‘I better quit!’ and so you try to quit, but your body is still trained to pump yourself full of stress drug, and your body has forgotten how to make its own natural relaxation-drug - so you are totally miserable and shaky until your body RE-adjusts - which can be months or years depending on how long you trained it to deal with the unnatural chemical situation.

But a person used to putting pleasure in their body every time they feel any stress at all is the least likely person to be able to resist weeks or months or years of having their nerves on edge while their body learns to reverse years of training ... and that’s the trap - or at least that’s the chemical part of it ...

I swear i am not lying. I have come off oxy for pain and xanax and klonopin for depression cold turkey without a problem.

I got used to the benzos, so i stopped them.

I WILL heed your advice and not take any chances in the future.

Maybe damage was done to my noggin that i just didn’t feel coming off so abruptly. that is a scary thougght.
