Yeah, I think I'll start at 1964 and work my way up. It's my area of expertise, from DJ at high school dances, to college radio, to my meteoric rise and equally meteoric fall in professional broadcasting in Seattle 41 years ago.

I still had hair then! All I have now is memories of hair.

Rockumentary actually started at college radio in 1969, to include the theme song I use for that effort.

At KING/Seattle, I was just another weekend/utility DJ who occasionally drove the KING money van around giving money to people with KING stickers in their rear windows.

My claim to fame was playing Sebastian Mothers, karate instructor, on Andy Barber's evening show. That was where I learned how to be a straight man and set Barber up for the punch lines. It's an art, and I came to respect the work of Dean Martin, one of the greatest straight men in history, who worked with Jerry Lewis.

It was radio that permitted me to learn how to work a room and keep a presentation interesting, a skill that stood me in good stead over the years, both in information technology and passenger rail advocacy.

Radio is a young man's game, and I was in it when it still could be fun.

And yet there is still a place for radio. We have a FRiend who still broadcasts the live play-by-play for college football and nearly all other sports. Has been in the business since 18. He’s darn good!

Of course, sports is a whole nuther animal.
