Trump’s comfort with people reminds me of that president from New York - FDR. They may or may not differ in policy (I’m still trying to figure out if Trump is for reals), they at least are able to connect strongly with the people they are trying to lead.
If Trump becomes president, instead of fireside chats on the radio, I can imagine fireside tweets. :)
What Trump just did was imho absolute genius. I don’t know how else to describe it. Why talk? That’s all politicians do. Trump will hand you the rope. Make your own damn noose.
He doesn’t argue. He accepts the logic of a situation for what it is and speaks to that if at all and moves on. He knows instinctively when he’s not going to change someone’s mind. Even when it’s the majority of the people

Rubio had a brilliant political answer to the climate change trap, but it was quite obviously the product of bull session. It was pre-packaged and designed to please both sides. Yes I believe in global warming, therefore I am not a fool. No we can’t destroy our economy, so we must push forward. Total crapola.

It’s not so much that he lacks charm it’s that he has to overcome anything they would throw at him. If trump weren’t there they’d be piling on Cruz Rubio etc.

Trump has been the most accessible candidate I’ve ever seen. Of course, his ability to pull in monster ratings gives him all the media access he could ever want. He’ll probably be just as accessible if he becomes president.

You are correct. That isn't the problem, though.
The problem is the real pollutants that other countries (like China) are putting out. But our 'elite' can't get rich off trying to force other countries to reduce their output of dangerous and toxic chemicals into the air.
So... they take our money and claim to control CO2 as a solution. Which it isn't. Meanwhile they Jet around and take cruises on Million Dollar Yachts. They claim the oceans are rising, but buy property on the beach.
