Activists: Syrian warplanes carry out wave of airstrikes on IS-held city of Raqqa

BEIRUT (AP) — Syrian warplanes carried out a wave of airstrikes in the Islamic State-held city of Raqqa, activists said, in rare attacks that coincided with a visit by a U.N. envoy to Damascus on Thursday.

She was moved to a different job. She was too much material for everyone to work with.

Sure we will. Because if there’s anything the last thirty years have taught us, it’s that we totally know our way around the middle east. Nobody is ever going to make fools of us.

I am so sick of neocon blowhards.

You are fighting a war that was over 30 years ago.

Get real.

It is...

Is that supposed to be just axiomatic, or are you able to explain why?

>These animals need dictators to keep them in line

Yes. The main reason my issues with Assad are moot. Putin is right on this one.

Don’t kid yourself. Russia is the Good Guys. We are not.

We're definitely not the good guys, but this might be a case of he least bad guys. Assad is no model ruler, but if he and the Russians can do severe damage to Islamic State and some of the Islamist rebel groups, that would be an improvement.

But a lot more innocent Syrians will be killed or displaced. I wonder if the entry of the Russians might be part of the reason for the sudden huge increase in the number of migrants heading to Europe.

I don't think Israel has much to do with this conflict other than proximity. This involves Shiites, Amalites and the Sunnis, and various subgroups within those, and the Muslim states that finance and support them. Plus Russia's desire to again become a player in the Middle East.

Don’t see any neocon blowhards. Trump said let ISIS and Syria fight it out. Seems good to me.

And when ISIS gets hold of a Pakistani Nuke with the help of Saudi Arabian money and take out Damascus with all those Russian casualties who is Putin going to blame? When Damascus is a burning ruin who will Russia blame? Israel, U.S.A., both? Will this force Russia and Iran to attempt to invade Israel and the middle east as predicated by Isaiah and Jeremiah and Daniel? The dominoes are all in place.

The only “innocent Syrians” are those trying to kill the muzzy scum. They are not in the gun sights of Assad or Russia.

Assad protected the non muzzys. Don’t buy the leftists muzzy lovers.

Are the Russians once again going to stop the the worst evil in the world in its tracks like they did with the Nazis?

Of course, this time our so called leadership is helping the “Nazis”. This POTUS should be....well I can’t say it....people are watching.

If history is any guide — those are NOT really Syrians flying those planes.

Sorta kinda like the newly introduced Mig-21's in Vietnam weren't flown by Vietnamese.

Well, it they stabilize Syria not so bad I guess. Europe will be happy, fewer refugees. Perhaps they'll move on to Iraq, reduce the refugee flow. A new regional superpower emerges. Good for their Iranian allies. Not so much for the US. If the Russians are moving in, hope we get our people off the ground.

Well, if we were not on the wrong side, I’d never say ‘em.

The bombing of Libya?
The betrayal of Mubarak and support for the Moslem Brotherhood?
The support of “moderate” Syrian rebels (who turned ISIS, no problem at all)?
Benghazi (where were supplying weapons to those Syrian rebels)?

We are sooooo on the wrong side of all this.

We should have supported Daffy. We should have supported Mubarak. We should have supported the Russians supporting their client, Assad (Jr.). This ain’t hind-sight. I was saying this when it started that the “Arab Spring” needed to be crushed.

Hillary! was crook selling her influence. John Kerry is a traitor and has been since the Vietnam War. If a Republican wins, he’ll have to spend his entire first term just trying to clean out the State Department. It is not on the USA’s side any more. Personally, I don’t think that it has been on the USA’s side since before FDR.

Actually, the current Assad is a pretty good guy for values of ME dictators. He didn’t want the job - he wanted to be a doctor. Part of the reason all this crap happened was that he started letting up.

Also, the Assads kept a lid on stuff and protected minorities (mostly because they WERE one!). They protected the Shia, Alawites, Druze, and Christians from the majority Sunni.

We should have supported the Russians supporting Assad from day one.
