Yet I saw an article from The Hill stating that Jeb was the forerunner.

This is absurd how they are not even talking about Cruz and he gets so little time. They must be very afraid of Cruz. This debate format with RNC and media control stinks. The more they gripe about Trump and show clips the more he grows in popularity. It is a three ring circus. Now it’s Carly, now it’s Carson! Oh Christie did a great job. Oh did you hear Lindsey Graham?! Great answer-let’s drink more! Fed up.

Yeah I don’t get the Fiorina thing either. She sounded and looked mad/angry all night to me too. I wasn’t watching the tv, was just listening.

She quotes lots of facts that no one checks. It sound impressive to those who don’t know the lines are all part of her memorized stump speech

Carly acted rude—over rehersed. Not a bad VP—maybe. Still CNN was better than Foxnews.

After comment about her face I was fixated on it. Not once did she smile. A very angry looking woman.

We already have one of them, the Wookie in the White Hut, and don't need another. By the way, where is the Wookie?

...Cruz, are anti-establishment candidates,

The media has to be manipulating the output from Cruz to show him so far back in the pack. He seems quite well respected in my area of ND and Eastern MT.

Fiorina was awful. She was intellectually dishonest on the 14th amendment. She never smiled. She was pushy and brash (hey look at me ... Which is how she got to the.top) she gave a great speech about killing babies but did not.answer the question about shutting down governemt. She.came off as offended by trumps remarks instead of brushing them off. Overall , I like her the.least. She is a snake. Oh ya, lets not forget her tough response about putin ( trump is like... Of course you talk toy these people... But you let them know in no uncertain terms your agenda)

To date, Cruz has been unable to connect with the voters. He is, by far, the most articulate and intelligent candidate of either party, but he seems too wonkish and preachy to the average citizen. For some, he comes across as the smartest kid in class who is always holding his hand up because he knows the answer, but the teacher isn't calling on him.

Cruz should do better in a smaller field.

At the end of the debate, Fiorina offered to shake hands with Trump, and then, after the handshake, she went on graciously to shake hands with the other candidates, apparently giving Trump the cold-shoulder brush-off.

Did I see that right?

Is Fiorina furious with Trump because of his remarks about her?

Okay. Trump's remarks about her physical appearance were rude and insulting. So were Trump's remarks about Rand Paul's appearance ("I haven't criticized his appearance, and believe me there's plenty of subject matter there"--from my recollection, possibly a paraphrase). But if Fiorina can't ignore rudeness and not let verbal attacks affect her, maybe she shouldn't be in politics or in a position so exposed to such things as the Presidency.

Do women react more to criticisms of their appearance than men?

Did Rand Paul get upset because his appearance was insulted?

I'm a Trump supporter, but the obvious rejoinder for either Fiorina or Paul would have been something like: "Looked in the mirror lately, Donald?" or "If this were a beauty contest, you'd be polling last!" or something like that.

Trump is like a bull in a china shop. That's what people like about him. He bumps around, smashing all the ikons of decadence that lesser men (and women) tip-toe around and apologize for (interminably) and fear to scratch, holding their little fingers out in their stupid, effete decadence.

It is this blustering disregard for the intricacies of the Gordian Knot that people love.

Physical appearance and other relative trivialities are merely such intricacies.

Trump’s my first choice. Cruz second. Huckabee third. Carson fourth. Fiorina fifth.

Depends on how they determine that. Everyone knows it's his turn to play candidate, so that puts him out in front.

I’ve said this before ad nauseum but I think Cruz has realized he’s just not getting the traction and being a highly ambitious guy he is going to make sure he gets dragged along on Trump’s coattails into the new Trump administration. I think its a real smart tactic that none of the others (maybe Carson) have thought of.

Fiorina reminded me of Nancy Pelosi - pinched face from too much botox or plastic surgery.

The following is from Mother Jones - what Trump touched on last night when he confronted Fiorina about her employment history:

Fiorina's sole claim to president-ish experience is her tenure at HP, and that stint was marked by layoffs, outsourcing, conflict, and controversy—so much so that several prominent former HP colleagues recoil at the idea of Fiorina managing any enterprise again, let alone the executive branch.

Fiorina became the poster-girl for an industry campaign aimed at blocking any legislation that would restrict a company's ability to can American employees in favor of workers overseas. At a Washington press conference, Fiorina said, "There is no job that is America's God-given right anymore. We have to compete for jobs.”

I’m not so sure that Carson is anti-establishment. He mentioned two or maybe three times that he’s been friends with GWB and has visited the WH on many occasions. Carson also said that he’s known Fiorina for 20y. If any (e) insiders came to light, my leaning would be Carson.

I figure Fiorina moves up only because people are looking for a woman with an R after her name, and Carson moves up only because people are looking for a black with an R after his name. If Fiorina was MR. Fiorina, he’d be down about 1 or 2 percent, and if Carson were white, he’d also be down at about 1 or 2 percent.
