Radical feminist writer Jill Filipovic is not happy with Pope Francis.

Radical feminist writer Jill Filipovic is not a happy person. She NEVER will be happy because she thinks that it is okay to kill innocent babies. She is foaming at the mouth and burning herself out trying to justify the unjustifiable.

Sorry, the church has no business latching on the the climate hoax. I was very disappointed about that. And I’m not alone; the is a lot of dissension in the ranks; a former co-worker has a brother who is at North American College in Rome, who works with a lot of Church bureaucracy. There is a growing divide there between the far left and the rest.

We’ll find out on judgment day just who should have “begged for forgiveness”

I, too, am disturbed by the network of "allies" the Pope surrounds himself with, who would vehemently disagree with the above Catholic principles.

I'm afraid that these allies are going to start pushing hard on gay marriage as well. Perhaps shame is the wrong word. Distressed is probably better. This not the same church, IMHO, that I was confirmed in just 30 years ago..

I’ve been praying hard for Pope Francis to shake loose of his radical climate associates, especially: Ban Ki-Moon, Jeffrey Sachs, Hans Schellnhuber, and Naomi Klein. They’re about as bad as they can get, they’re all-in with the whole warmist hoax, and they’re (I think) using Pope Francis to the hilt. I’m hoping Jesus is raising up some St. Catherine of Siena types to get Francis back on the straight and narrow.

It is the same Church. It's had a hefty share of popes who were dumb, naive, incompetent, frail, vacillating, or occasionally evil, but the Church has always survived by the grace of God and the skin of our teeth. Read a bit of history. After the shock passes it tends to steady one.

I heard this anecdote just the other day. After spending the better part of 15 years locked in constant conflict with Pope Pius VII (which included putting the pope in prison), Napoleon Bonaparte told Pius’ adept Secretary of State, Cardinal Consalvi, that he would “crush” the Roman Catholic Church.

The cardinal sighed and shook his head over the emperor’s naivete and answered. "If in 1,800 years we clergy have failed to destroy the Church, do you really think that you'll be able to do it?"

Related to this article? You're ashamed of the Pope ....for calling post-abortion women to repentance and reconciliation via the merciful forgiveness of God?

Unfortunately it is the standard Free Republic response to anything the Pope says. Or to anything anyone says about the Pope. Expect to see fewer Catholics bothering with FR. I don't really blame them.

In the interests of full disclosure, let me say I am a Trad (I sing at the Latin Mass and love that Hermeneutic of Continuity thing); I gladly hang out with Trads in my parish. At the same time, all my in-laws and prolife allies here in Upper East Tennessee are Baptists and Non-denoms. And I have come to expect good sense and good will from all of these diverse people, Trads and Prods, and they have never disappointed me.

At FR, however (ahem) at FR, I notice that the Tabloid Trads and the, um, Pugnacious Prods join forces to make up a Consolidated Anti-Papist Front. A thrilling display of ecumenical unity ("No Pope For Us!")from individuals who would never be caught dead being ecumenical in any other way.

"Herod and Pilate became friends that very day, although they hads been enemies formerly." (Luke 21:12)

Being the Pope’s spokesman on FR must be a full time job.
You’re a great version of Josh Earnest!

Deflecting, distracting, and distorting truths because Catholics just don’t dare question “his ‘holiness’ “.
