Last week I learned about ‘kulak’, and decided I am one.
This week I learned about Lysenkoism, and we are totally soaked in it:
Lysenko’s theory was primarily based on Dialectical materialism, .... Proponents claimed to have discovered, among many other claims, that rye could transform into wheat and wheat into barley, proposed that natural cooperation was observed in nature as opposed to natural selection, weeds are transmutations of food grains.
Ultimately, Lysenkoism failed to deliver on its promises in agricultural yields and even had unfortunate consequences such as the arresting, firing, or execution of 3,000 biologists ....
Lysenkoism is used metaphorically to describe the manipulation or distortion of the scientific process as a way to reach a predetermined conclusion as dictated by an ideological bias, often related to social or political objectives. [Wiki quote]
My wife worked for the local utility (since then retired) and has been at the Diablo Canyon nuclear facility as part of her job. Demonstrators have always protested its existence. There are armed guards inside and out strictly enforcing security, made her nervous so as not to break any rules within. Different color painted lines on hallway floors you dare not cross if you don't have the right security clearance. I'll tell my wife she must have imagined all this since you say it doesn't exist.
Yeh get rid of all the illegals. That’s prolly 50% of the cars on the road in CA. :-)
I believe Diablo Canyon is still running. So is Humboldt Bay.
