Make the Border Kids Americans
Politico ^ | 7/17/14 | HUGH HEWITT

Posted on 09/04/2015 10:24:47 AM PDT by jimbo123

Approximately 90,000 minors have entered the country in the two years since President Obama, whether out of the best of intentions, cynical political calculation or as another of his serial expressions of incompetence, allowed the idea to take hold abroad that kids who were brought to the country would be allowed to stay. Numbers are swelling rapidly and detention centers are bursting at the seams. Among them are thousands of unaccompanied Central American children—approximately 52,000 since October, according to federal records.

Right now the country ought to act to end the humanitarian crisis of tens of thousands of what are, in effect, orphans and strangers in our land. The very young among them should find “forever families” right here, right now. They should become Americans.

They need to set up camps like in the movie “Holes.”

Because their low-life parents and relatives would never think about trying to join them here -- right Hugh?

This is the kind of thing I expected from the Trumpadores

someone asked me a hard question, better start the slime machine!

Trump practices the politics of personal destruction better than the Clinton’s ever did.

I agree, we did not ask for them to come here. Send them back to Mexico and let them work it out.

Hugh doesn’t realize that when his visibility is elevated, his rants are able to turn off more people. He thinks he’ll win more followers. He simply reminds me why I don’t listen to his show.

These kids are not our problem. They are the problem of their home nations. Send them back. Let them sort them out.

What’s so hard to figure out here.

They send us their kids and we can’t say no.

I can. NO!

The article bears Mr. Hewitt’s by-line, though I suppose it is possible someone else wrote it and Politico printed it under false pretenses.

Hey, Hugh, if you can't say no to one, you can't say no to one hundred million. If this nation does not start enforcing its laws and saying no to this flood of illegal entrants, it will be another Brazil or Argentina in another forty or fifty years.

No one has voted for this idiocy.

I have no idea how this is pertinent to anything.

Are you saying that only people who agree with Trump can ask him questions... or whut

What? Trump wrote this article and put Hewitt's name on it?

No way should they be made Americans. It will encourage even greater waves of these “children.” They contribute nothing to the U.S. The best solution - send them back.

Yes, this thread does have the air of “attack the messenger” to it.

However, if Hugh did in fact pen this article — then he stands condemned out of his own mouth.

Trump has advocated sending all illegals back to their home nation. How does that translate into Trump folks supporting these kids staying?

Aren’t you the one practicing the politics of personal destruction here?

Most of them aren’t kids. They are 17 to 25 and lying about their age.
