There’s Only One Candidate People Actually Like – and It’s Not Trump or Clinton (it's Ben Carson)
The Fiscal Times ^ | September 3, 2015 | Rob Garver

The only one of the declared presidential candidates that Americans have positive feelings for overall isn’t a frontrunner and has never held public office before. According to a poll released Thursday by Public Policy Polling, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson is the sole presidential candidate whose favorability rating is higher than his or her unfavorability rating.

When asked about Carson, 41 percent of the respondents in the national poll reported that they felt favorably about him, compared to 30 percent who have an unfavorable view. That puts him well ahead of all the other candidates in the field, though 29 percent of respondents said they were not familiar enough with Carson to make a judgment about him, suggesting that those numbers could change as he becomes more widely known. The only other candidate to come close to an overall favorable rating was former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, who at 32/35 had an overall favorability rating of -3.

Carson took a hard line on the path-to-citizenship issue: “The American people should not be manipulated into believing that they are heartless simply because they want to preserve the rule of law in our nation and look after their own before they take in others,” he wrote. “We also have to consider the millions of people who have immigrated here legally as well as those who are in the queue. It is incredibly unfair to them to grant amnesty to those who have jumped ahead of them in line illegally.”

You are really screwed up inside of your head.
I think you should seek professional advice.

Fact: There is no head to head match ups until past Super Tuesday primaries are over. Especially not Trump versus Carson. Because Bush, Cruz, Rubio, Kasich & Walker have enough money to last through super Tuesday.

Which means Carson would have to win over all of the candidates, which is unlikely. So Carson comes out of Super Tuesday with no wins, but a collection of delegates because many primaries are not winner take all.

After that stage, many will drop out and also could Carson. If present trends continue, there will be 3 candidates fighting it out for the last half of primaries. Trump, Bush, Cruz -or- Trump, Bush & Kasich.
If Cruz remains, Bush wins.
If Kasich remains, Trump wins.

You mourn for your friend “Chicky”,
while you condemn those who avoided that fate.
You need to sort all of that out in your head.
May God bless you.

I not only listen to what trump has to say but what he has done. That type personality gets shit done.He will accomplish that by going over the heads of the elite and the media just as he is doing now.I remember another candidate years ago that was able to do the same thing.Sadly the deal that was made was not upheld by the congress.Trump has every reason not to trust a damned thing the congress says or agrees to.

Ben’s certainty a likeable guy, but being likeable doesn’t qualify someone to be be President. For instance, Mr. Green Jeans and Captain Kangaroo are likeable, but ...

In this poll, how many gave him a favorable rating solely because he is black and they dont want to be considered racist?

“ I like Ben, but he is not ready to be President”

Agreed. Just because I would love to have a beer with the guy and tal about pretty much anything doesn’t mean that I think that he is the best qualified candidate. Of course, the opposite is not necessarily true - each candidate has to be evaluated on their merits...one of which is not “could I be this guy’s friend.”

Amen! I know the SOB that I’m voting for; he is already driving the Dems and Mexicans to fits of apoplexy, thus proving the wisdom of choosing him.

“I like Ben, but he is not ready to be President.”

Yep, I would be honored to meet him and I like to listen to him but he is a great neurosurgeon, a specialty so difficult that only a fraction of one percent of people have any business attempting it. That DOES NOT indicate that he should be president. We need a generalist, not a specialist.
