The tragic image of a drowned toddler whose body washed up on a beach in one of Turkey’s most popular resorts went viral Wednesday, underscoring the increasingly desperate plight of migrants trying to flee Africa and the Middle East in hopes of a better life in Europe.

The boy, presumed to be from Syria, was found dead Wednesday near the town of Bodrum. A Turkish police officer is shown in the image carrying the boy's body away from the waves.

At least 12 migrants, including the boy and four other children, drowned off the Turkish coast when two boats carrying them to the Greek island of Kos capsized, Turkish officials told The Associated Press.

Television images also showed the boy – wearing a bright red T-shirt and shorts -- lying face down in the surf, Reuters reported.

Just heard on the radio a family threatening to lie down on the train tracks in Hungry.

Guess my cynicism is out of control — but part of me suspects that this kid was murdered as a propaganda ploy by the very people who want to claim “refugee” status.

So how do you make a kid lie down and be still like that with water swirling around his face?

This current batch of refugees seems to contain a massive amount of military age Muslim men. They also have to travel through Muslim Turkey to get to the West. Why is nobody demanding that Muslims take care of their own?

To let this INVASION continue is Christian suicide for Europe. Within a very short time, all of Europe will be the cess pool these “refugees” left behind.

If they want a better life, send them back and make the Muslim assholes fight for it.

And screw Turkey.

And why is Hillary and Obama and Kerry free from any blame in this mess and these deaths???

That is an awful event. RIP little guy.

That said, why did his parents decide to try to cross illegally from one safe country Turkey, to another safe country Greece/the EU?

Their lives were not in danger in Turkey? Were they starving in Turkey? (No) Was Turkey going to send them back to Syria (No). Or were they after economic gain from the welfare-generous EU ? (Germany or Sweden being their most likely destinations)

How much did these "desperate, poor" people pay the smugglers to take them from safety in Turkey, to a more lucrative safety in the EU?

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said during a visit to Switzerland on Thursday that the burden of taking on hundreds of thousands of refugees fleeing conflicts in Syria and elsewhere must be shared out more fairly in Europe.

Merkel said Europe must solve the refugee crisis with “fairness and solidarity” and that Germany stood ready, in light of its economic strength, to assume its responsibilities. She said Christian values dictated that all people in danger had a right to protection

She started this.

According to the report I read, the family was coming over the sea and planned on going to Canada to stay with an aunt. The little boy’s mother and sibling drowned also.

Muslims invading Christian EU, what could go wrong?
All part of the plan & before these idiots realize what’s happening, too late.

The UK was smart to negotiate an opt-out from EU asylum policies.

(OTOH, the UK already has a lethal dose of Islam within its borders.)

“Guess my cynicism is out of control — but part of me suspects that this kid was murdered as a propaganda ploy by the very people who want to claim “refugee” status.”

In the story linked from Drudge last night, the rest of the story - two people (presumably men) swam to safety WITH LIFE JACKETS.

So the women and children got nothing, the men got life jackets.

You gotta love this culture.

Europe is being invaded like never before. It is out of control and despicable treasonous politicians have allowed and encourage it.

They should be hung publicly for treason for what they have done.

Bodrum is several hundred kilometers from Syria - why on earth would anyone then try to cross over to Greece?

Bodrum <-> Kos

Zoom out to see just how far away these refugees were from any hostilities that would warrant them taking such drastic measures ...
