How did our cool weather get logged by NOAA as hot?

There is something very odd about the NOAA claim of a very hot July, thanks to global warming:

July was the hottest month on Earth since records began...

Take the NOAA map above. Check Australia, said to have had average or above-average temperatures over much of the continent, apart from the much-warmer-than-average bits around Sydney and parts of Western Australia.

Liberal MP Craig Kelly is curious:

July in Melbourne was widely reported as the ”Coldest July in 20 years”

It also was reported at the start of August that Sydney had just “notched its longest cold spell in 26 years” and it was also “the coolest July for the city since 2002”

Even our Bureau of Meteorology reported; ”Temperatures were below average across Sydney during July”

However, have close look at the below map produced by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) an Obama Government agency (the same people that assert that July 2015 was the hottest month ever).

NOAA assert that temperatures in Melbourne for July 2015 were “Warmer than Average” and for Sydney they were “Much warmer than average”.

Can anyone explain this ?

We often see attempts by 'climate change' advocates to say that unusually cold weather is also somehow just as much proof of their ideas, as hot weather is. But this goes beyond that. It's really hard to see how anybody could argue that the NOAA data is accurate and honest. They are claiming that July was warmer than average in parts of Australia, as part of their general statement that this was the hottest month ever. But Australia's own Bureau of Meteorology - which is an agency that pushes the climate change agenda as hard as any, and certainly wants people to believe in it - says the exact opposite about local conditions. It has no agenda to oppose the NOAA - it is in accord with it politically.

NOAA has been fudging statistics and cooking the book for years. It's gotten to be laughable - its claims often conflict with its own public data. If you can place a Las Vegas bet that 2015 will be NOAA's hottest year ever, do it because no matter how cold the last four months of the year are, the claim will be made.

Here, we had a cool and wet Spring and seasonal Summer weather. Much cooler and more pleasant than we were in drought a few years ago.

Actually, there isn’t as much difference in the two maps as the author suggests. The NASA map suggests a slightly warmer average temperature, but not dramatically so.

It would be interesting to see if the problem is with NOAA’s current data or with the historical data. I bet the second because it is far easier to lie about old data and refuse to publish the raw data.

I remember when that put up that satellite to measure global warming (about 10 year ago or so). I thought at the time it was a big waste of money. Now, I now it was, because it shows - from space - that there is no global warming. But the left ignores it.

Scientific data only works when it works for them.

Problem with NOAA data is it does not show SE Australia as being significantly cooler than normal. It was. If you notice over half of the record global warm record readings were in the ocean. So yes if you were a fish it was hot. The error, besides the obvious biases, is taking only surface temps of the Ocean. The Oceans are three dimensional heat sinks. If Ocean current slows, the heat sink is less efficient.
