Endgame: Mikulski becomes 34th Senate Democrat to back Iran deal, ensuring GOP can’t stop it

Thus ends a breathtaking performance of Republican failure theater. Once upon a time, knowing that your party controlled both chambers of Congress would have given you great comfort that a terrible treaty negotiated with a terrorist power could never become law in the United States.

I think this makes it official: I’m on the Trump bandwagon. Hail Caesar.

What’d the GOP get out of all this? What did their huge advantage in the House and their eight-seat majority in the Senate ultimately amount to in terms of concessions? It’s one thing to lose a momentous fight on foreign policy, ceding all of your constitutional leverage in the process, but if you can get some goodies for your side at least you can say it’s not a total loss. Unless I missed something, we got … nothing.

Not a thing — not even, in all likelihood, the right to crow and say that our resolution of disapproval passed the Senate with plenty of Democratic support. This fiasco will end with an essentially party-line vote on cloture, leaving Obama free to argue to the world that the deal has the acquiescence of the U.S.

here’s Dick Cheney wondering why Republicans ever agreed to treat this deal as something less than a treaty in the first place. Oh, by the way: Iran’s hardliners, the same people whom Barack Obama thinks are making “common cause” with Republicans, want you to know that nothing about this agreement has changed their conviction that the United States is indeed “the Great Satan” and that, if anything, they should go ahead and expand the reach of their ballistic missiles because of that.

Wonder how much of that money that’ll go to iran is kickbacks to defense and government contractors, and how much of that will filter down to the politicians that these contractors bought.

Even congress has a price, like all whores do. In this case, all it cost to buy them off was giving a bunch of crazy radical muslims time and space to build a nuke.

Wonder what US city will go up in nuclear smoke, just so a bunch of cronies can line their pockets.

Well, I’m sure that next time I drive through Maryland I am going to see all kinds of new roads and bridges being built.

Pray America is waking

The template has now been set to pass any “treaty” with a minority of votes in the Senate.

Arms control, climate change, you name it.

The Constitution is gone.

Does the next election even matter? It seems the die has been cast.

Wonder what her ‘32 pieces of silver’ were? And the others who constitute the 34 needed votes........what have/will they got/get? So far, no Republican is on board so, at least right now, Obama cannot claim ‘bipartisan support’. Another devastating mess, like Obamacare, that will bite the Dems hard. Unfortunately, before anyone can get rid of this ‘agreement’, Obama will have forked over the approx $160 billion.....which will be used to fund terrorist groups. That money will be gone quickly. The rest can be neutered, but the money will be gone.....to hurt us and our allies.

“Iran will never nuke their allies in D.C.”

True. But then again their allies will have already packed up and left for that getaway island prepared for them when it happens. Only the useful idiots will be left there to perish when the time comes.

Don’t worry - they’ve got it all worked out.

EternalVigilnce @8: "This whole thing is an illicit end around the requirements of our Constitution. It’s shameful."

Traitorobama, along with traitorous RINO collaborators in the Senate have tapdanced around the U.S. Constitution, including Article II, Section 2:

"The President... shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur."

And now the Iran deal is sealed by that worthless cow known as the Baltimore Bulldozer, the retiring Sen. Babara Mikulski.

Count another vote for Trump here. He may be an SOB but he’s our SOB for now. Hope he chooses Ted Cruz as running mate.

Meanwhile, stock up on precious metals. Not gold & silver if you get my drift. Be prepared for Amish-instigated drive-by shootings. Fasten your seatbelts, it’s a rough ride ahead.

Let the record show Senator Ted Cruz voted for this.

I'll need more information about that. Cruz is an unabashed conservative, and would not have voted this way without a good reason.

The only senator who voted against this was Tom Cotton.

All the rest of them have signed their name on islamic nukes.

There is no good reason.

None.

The federal government of the United States has betrayed the world.

And the single accomplishment of the GOP majorities that we elected was to make that betrayal possible.

To Hell with them.

Ha!!

What a joke.

The Endgame was defined when EVERY Senator less tom Cotton voted for the Corker Bill.

ANY Senator who claims they didn't know this would be the outcome is a L I A R.

L I A R.

Including every Senator now running for POTUS.

So what was held over the heads of the Congress to change the law from being two thirds to pass instead of two thirds to prevent?

Something disturbing happened here.

Yes!!!

Question should be asked over and over again until the answer is revealed.

Why would a Republican-controlled Senate give up some of its constitutional power to this out-of-control president?

Nobody appears to be asking. Nobody!

The worthless communist Schumer knew how this would unfold before he voted against the deal. The people in NY are stupid enough to believe that Schumer was voting against the deal with the best interests of the Jewish community in mind. Wow there are a lot of morons in NY. Lower NY of course.

Need to get them all on record, so that when the war breaks out with Iran, we can just round them up and have a public execution.

More than just Rinos. It passed the senate 99-1. Tell me again why it was good to get the majority in the senate in the last election? They abdicated all their power.

I wonder how many pieces of silver they all got. Do not ever trust ANYBODY in DC.
