Trump, Carson and Fiorina top three vote-getters in Bucks County GOP straw poll...<tr>

Republican Presidential hopeful Donald Trump has won a 2016 Presidential Straw Poll conducted by the Bucks County Republican Committee over the course of the five-day Middletown Grange Fair in Wrightstown.

Throughout the run of the fair, GOP volunteers reported a heavy interest by voters, some who had strong feelings and others who cast their votes quietly without any comment.

The poll followed on the heels of the first Republican Presidential debates, which gave the country the opportunity to hear directly from the largest field of GOP candidates in history.

“With such a deep bench of qualified, dedicated men and women seeking our nation’s highest office, we were eager to hear from the people of Bucks County on who they think will carry our Party’s banner into November 2016!” said GOP Committee Chair Pat Poprik.

Surprisingly, the unscientific poll came close to mirroring a national Fox News Channel Poll with Trump garnering 25 percent of the vote with 778 votes. The FNC Poll also has Trump at 25 percent.

Dr. Ben Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, was the second highest vote getter at 17 percent with 542 votes (FNC Poll: 12 percent). Carly Fiorina, the former chief executive officer of Hewlett-Packard, was next at 13 percent with 397 votes (FNC Poll: 5 percent).

Amazing that the largest field of GOP candidates produces the fewest differences. So what's really the point? There is tax cuts to produce jobs, opposition to peace with Iran, export jobs with free trade, kill unions, get Hillary and impeach Obama. To hell with the lot, I'll vote for something different, I'll support Trump.

Dr. Carson is no Michael Steele. Steele is and was a RINO. Dr. Carson sounds solidly conservative to me on most issues. However, I just don’t see him as president. He has accomplished so much in his career, and no one can or should take that away from him. He is an amazing man, and I don’t give a crap about the color of his skin - and neither should you.
