FOX LAKE, Ill. -- A manhunt is underway for three armed suspects after a Fox Lake police officer was fatally shot in the head Tuesday morning, sources tell WGN.
At a brief news conference Tuesday, authorities said they were searching for two white men and one black man. A large perimeter has been set up and multiple helicopters and K9s units are searching the area. Police will not confirm the officer has died, only saying that his condition is unknown.
Sources say that the officer's gun and pepper spray was taken.
Rollins Road between Washington Avenue and Route 59 is closed and all area schools are on lockdown.
Service on the Milwaukee District North Line is also shut down in both directions.

Traffic stop.
The officer could have encountered three men in a vehicle (two Black), that were leave a crime and the officer was unaware of that, other than the driver and passengers were acting suspicious and the officer made a traffic stop where he was shot to death.
Authorities have said the officer died at the scene. WGNTV says he was shot in the head. (DailyMail)

There is a guerilla building in the cities. It will spread from there. Its prosecution in the streets will be problematic for the insurrectionists in some smaller cities in the South, at least.
Community/Law enforcement relations sure have improved in America. Looking sharp Obama. Of course to be perfectly honest, looking at all the events in the past decade or so, law enforcement and the media brought much of this on themselves.

I know, they’re doubtless lovin’ it.
On second thought, rather than focusing exclusively on BLM, its time we started including white progressives who are supporting the drive for a race war. They helped pull the trigger on this patrolman as surely as BLM, Louie Farrakhan & the president.
All they said so far is that it was a traffic stop, and that the officer called in for backup. So, I would guess the dispatcher might at least have a plate number... perhaps they're keeping that quiet at this point so as to not tip off the perps.
That was a VERY significant statement, and one not fully grasped at the time.
For those not in the know, Obama's statement was in reference to the minor dust-up between black Harvard University professor Henry Louis Gates and the Cambridge police.
A decent government official would have said something like "I'll wait into all the facts are in", or "I don't comment on local issues."
But no. Obama IMMEDIATELY took the side of the black professor against the white cop. One reason that was so tragic is that Obama really had a chance to heal the racial divide in this country. He was in a unique position to do so. And he chose to make it worse instead.
