New survey shows depth of Jeb's Bush dynasty problem

How bad is Jeb Bush's Bush problem? A new Quinnipiac poll suggests it is very bad.

The national survey shows Bush running well behind Donald Trump and Ben Carson, tied for third place in the GOP race with Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio. But that is not the most serious problem for Bush in the poll.

Quinnipiac pollsters asked respondents a simple, open-ended question: "What is the first word that comes to mind when you think of Jeb Bush?" Quinnipiac published a table of all the responses given five or more times. Here is the list of the top eight responses for Jeb, including the number of times people mentioned each particular word:

Bush — 136

family — 70

honest — 53

weak — 45

brother — 41

dynasty — 40 experience — 35

George — 28

By far, the first word that the most people thought of about Jeb Bush was not a word at all, but rather his last name. What's the first thing you think of when you think about Jeb? Bush. And then the next most common response was "family." And then "brother" and "dynasty" and "George." When people see Jeb, they don't think, this is an attractive candidate for president. They think "Bush."

How many times has Jeb said, "I'm my own man"? So far at least, the message hasn't gotten through.

In Bush you have a presidential candidate that said from the very beginning that he didn’t need the base voters of his party.

The height of stupidity to make such an announcement.

“Iraq is not my brother’s mistake. Iraq is Obama’s mistake. “

Absolutley true. If we had kept a relatively small force in there, it could have maintained the stability we had carved out with our military. And eventually their military could have become functional. Now what do we have? A mess.

What really galls me is the MSM reporting on ISIS and the ME mess - they report as if it just happened out of the blue, never assigning the true cause - our President.

There was a population explosion inMexico after 1940, but now that has ended. The Mexicans moved north because the country is an oligarchy who traditionally refuse the share the wealth with anyone outside their family. Rich guys like Carlos Slim have all their money invested abroad. Every industry is run by a cartel.

Rules for Changing a Limited Republican Government into an Unlimited Hereditary One (1784-1786)

6. But the grand nostrum will be a public debt…

7. It must not be forgotten that the members of the legislative body are to have a deep stake in the game. This is an essential point, and happily is attended with no difficulty. A sufficient number, properly disposed, can alternately legislate and speculate, and speculate and legislate, and buy and sell, and sell and buy, until a due portion of the property of their constituents has passed into their hands to give them an interest against their constituents, and to ensure the part they are to act.

10. “Divide and govern” is a maxim consecrated by the experience of ages, and should be familiar in its use to every politician…

11. As soon as sufficient progress in the intended change shall have been made, and the public mind duly prepared according to the rules already laid down, it will be proper to venture on another and a bolder step toward a removal of the constitutional landmarks.

There was no Lincoln dynasty. The Adams and the Roosevelt dynasties, respectively, had only one successor each. The Bush dynasty has had that successor, so that’s that.

What happens when the annual debt payment on merely the interest owed exceeds the total amount taken in by all taxes, fees, and tariffs? That is not too far off and especially if interest rates are raised. At the outside it’s 30 years. Recently, as much as 30% of the annual budget has been borrowed money. Currently, the debt is approaching the GDP.

My guess is hyper-inflation Zimbabwe style will be the response at the time. They’ll prop everything up with printing presses. That will necessitate a totalitarian regime.

Prior to that, they really need to dumb down the American people and make them totally dependent. It’s really hard to have Zimbabwe without Zimbabweans to cower in corners taking it.

They’ll prop everything up with printing presses.

Being the reserve currency and having an unprecedented war capability can keep this going for as long as necessary. There is nobody to stop it externally and only "we the people" Taxed Enough Already can reign it in internally. The vehicle for collapsing the U.S.A. is debt. Bastiat - The Law, Freneau - Rules and others have spelled it out.

The shackles of debt enslave us, collapse us. We break these chains by defunding socialist collectives, foreign and domestic…and depopulating socialists (debt masters) from the body politic.

It's easy to live - free - republic. Sovereign and debt free.

They REALLY THOUGHT we’d fall for their plan?

Wait.
Once the GOPe nominates its choice, they will warn us that voting for a third party will elect the Demonrat -- and half the folks here on FR will jump down the throat of anyone who dares disagree with Rove.

As I've said before, I am an American not a Republocrat. The GOP does not own my vote, the Constitution and I do. Never again will I choose the lesser of two evils, because evil is wrong -- so all you FReeples who swallow the Rove line, go ahead and cuss me out now.

How is that legislative majority working out for you? Keep voting for the "R" party, and you'll keep getting more of the same. Meanwhile, I will keep trying to MakeAmericaGreatAgain (Might not be perfect, but far better than Bush/Romney/McCain/Rubio/etc)

How many times has Jeb said, "I'm my own man"?

The fact that he has to keep saying it already tells everyone that it isn't true.
