Donald Trump Opens Up About His Brother's Alcoholism
StarPulse.com ^ | 2/10/2011 | StarPulse.com

The tycoon-turned-reality TV star watched his older sibling struggle for years with a alcohol problem, which eventually claimed his life.

And the 64 year old admits he has never been tempted to sip even a drop of alcohol, after his brother repeatedly warned him to stay away from the bottle.

He tells Piers Morgan, "I've never had drugs. I've never had a cigarette and I don't drink coffee. I have other problems, I guess!

"I had an older brother named Fred...he started drinking. It got worse and worse. He also smoked a lot. "He was about 10 years older and he would tell me, 'Don't ever smoke, don't ever drink.' I say that to my kids now - no drinking, no drugs, no alcohol. So far my kids have been following my lead.

"In a certain way, he was one of my great teachers, if not my best. He got me not to smoke, not to drink. I say to people don't drink. It's not hard."

Apparently Lincoln, Rutherford B. Hayes and Bush, Jr. are the only other presidents who were non-drinkers.

Biden apparently is as well. So if it's Trump vs. Biden, it'll be two non-drinkers going head-to-head.

This actually makes Trump more appealing to a lot of people. At least it appears to me. Hilary is a well known lush

Did you read the article or just the headline?

Never mind, your moronic reply answered that question.

Billy Carter was very much alive. Trump’s brother passed away.

I enjoy the occasional drink and coffee and would not want to give them up. Luckily, there is no alcoholism in my family. If there were, I’d probably avoid drinking too.

“Apparently Lincoln, Rutherford B. Hayes and Bush, Jr. are the only other presidents who were non-drinkers”.

Bush quit drinking before he held elected offices. He was never a “non-drinker”.

No, seems to be the same story as Trump.

“I’m the only guy you know who doesn’t drink,” Biden said, adding that he has never taken a drink in his life.

“Too many alcoholics in my family,” he explained.

I’ve never trusted a man who doesn’t drink any alcohol. They tend to be full of BS. Having said that, I like Trump. If he’s elected I will raise a toast to him.

I like the fact that Trump will not have any problem when that 3am call comes in. We never knew where Obama was during the Benghazi attack.

I’ve never drank either. I can tell you it takes a lot of willpower and resistance to peer pressure to do that. So I think it’s a good quality.

Crystal Palace East said that Biden had even quit drinking as he ponders a presidential run. Perhaps he was not serious, but he was describing what was said at a cocktail party in DC.

I’ve got Indian blood on both sides of my family; so I’m a bit leery of that aspect of it, so I don’t drink. I have some first cousins who have had terrible experiences with it. I like muscadine wine; but that happens about once every five years.

You can find those characteristics in mass murderers too.
