That is what I first thought of because only a liberal would be obsessed about mentioning God..really surprised at Megyn Kelly, I used to really like her. Would enjoy her show, she always seemed to be a class act, questioning guests, I always thought of her being more to the right guess I was wrong

AFAIK, Cruz has never called for the deportation of every illegal immigrant. He has called for banning any pathway to citizenship for them. This recent article says as much.

http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2015/08/ted_cruz_vs_donald_trump_whos_stronger_on_immigration.html

As he said to Kelly, he’s said previously that they’ll have a conversation about what to do with the illegals here after securing the border.

As far as I’m concerned, that’s no different than Trump’s position in the end, because Trump says he wants to bring back in the good ones. Trump has not said they could never become citizens after returning. So in that way, Cruz might be more conservative than Trump. I don’t really care if the illegals leave and come back vs. just stay if they’re going to get legal status in the end. Neither Trump nor Cruz is making it clear what the end picture looks like of how many current illegals will become legal.

It’s obvious Kelly is auditioning for another job at a leftist network.

Megyn Kelly's career is bow in "adjustment" mode and she literally put it there.

The adjustment I refer to is how viewers now "perceive" you.

Most indications are Kelly is a typical quasi-libertarian suburban mom type who is conservative on economic issue, liberal on social issues and middle-of-the-road on national security issues.

It was a “gotcha” question to stir up contrived controversy between Cruz and Trump.

She asked him how he would treat children born to illegals. It wasn't a gotcha. Everybody has been asked that. Christie got asked the same thing and gave a straight answer (that I didn't like).

He could have schooled her and the audience about the meaning of the 14th. Instead he said he'd talk about that later after securing the border. In other words, he dodged it.

Like Megyn or hate her, he didn't provide his belief on the issue. Maybe he made a mistake going on her show to begin with. He HAD to know the question on the 14th was coming.

"She asks the toughest question possible of any person she’s interviewing. ... Too many of you Kelly-bashers don’t understand what a journalist is. They’re not supposed to be there to be a propagandist for your side."

Ah, but when "asking the toughest question possible" is extended to justify asking tough questions containing out-of-context quotes and based on false premises intended to deceive, then the journalist is, in fact, being a propagandist.

I have no problem with Kelly asking tough questions, as long as they are fair and not intended to deceive. But the debate question of Trump painted him as a misogynist, when the truth is clearly that he is an equal-opportunity jerk who is rude and belligerent to anyone who attacks him, irrespective of their gender. In fact, anyone who has observed him for any length of time would probably tell you that he generally treats women better than he treats men.

Considering that calling a person a racist or a misogynist is just about the most vicious thing you can do to a person's reputation in this day and age, and considering that this behavior was timed when 24 million people were watching, I thought that Kelly's dishonest question was one of the most selfish and despicable things I've ever seen a journalist do.

That wasn’t the question. The question was how he would counter an attack from Hillary framed in the “war on women” context that used some of his past incendiary remarks using female-specific terms.

He says what he always does....secure the border then talk about all the other problems. She wanted him to answer a question concerning what Trump said he would do. To cause some drama....she’s worthless.

"How can she challenge a conservative by not presenting them with the opposite, liberal point-of-view?"

If she was half as intelligent as she thinks she is, it would be EASY.

For example, instead of being DISHONEST like liberals, and painting Trump as a misogynist, she could have challenged Trump at the debate with a question like this: "You are belligerent and rude towards anyone who attacks you? Do you have the temperament to be President?"

The question could have been longer and could have given examples, but it needed to TRUTHFULLY represent his weaknesses, not DECEITFULLY inventing his weaknesses. Do you get what I'm saying here?

Cruz said he would pursue all/both options including the 14th amendment. He basically told her it was not the issue that needed to be addressed. If you want
to call that a dodge and be disappointed in him, that is your right. I think that kind of attitude based off his answer to one question is bereft of
intellectual rigor and unlike what I am used to on this site. Good to see the political debate is stirring the wind, lets just not wet our finger and place it into the air for each and every Q&A each candidate engages in. Can you seriously say that you supported Cruz before an now do not?

I believe there is a good reason for this.

Just as you don't show your hand to the enemy by announcing a schedule for withdrawal, you don't show your hand to the illegal aliens in residence until the rest of your policy is in place.

Once the border is secured and an e-verify procedure is in place, we can plan the next steps to take advantage of the new circumstances -- which should involve a lot of self-deportation.

DIdn’t watch it. Gave up on her some time ago (like 18 months or so ago).

If she looked evil it is only because she is. Trump maynot be righton lots of things but he is most definitely right about “Mehgyn”

You are wrong. She made a statement that the Dems and Hillary would attack him on the same grounds.

But the actual final question was essentially: Considering all this [i.e. "Considering that you are obviously a misogynist", based on her out-of-context quotes and the true fact that the Dems would sink to the same level], "do you have the temperament to be President?"
