While trying to soothe feelings among Hispanics for use of the term “anchor babies,” former Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida appears to have offended some in the Asian-American community.
Mr. Bush said on Monday that it was “ludicrous” to suggest that he was using a slur to talk about Hispanics when discussing birthright citizenship. He went on to explain that he was largely referring to people from Asian countries who sneak into the United States planning to give birth.
“No matter which ethnic group you’re referring to, ‘anchor babies’ is a slur that stigmatizes children from birth,” said Representative Judy Chu, a California Democrat, who was the first Chinese-American elected to Congress. “All that is accomplished through talk of anchor babies — be they from Latin America, Asia, Europe or Africa — is to use xenophobic fears to further isolate immigrants.”

I think Trump will see this as a chink in Yeb’s armor.
It’s like clockwork, what else would you expect?
But it’s ok to insult the Asian monority.
Pacific rim asians are one minority that Republicans have always had a chance to persuade. Singling them out is even worse politically than avoiding the term anchor baby. There is an opportunity for Republicans in LA and SF to campaign AGAINST caps on ethnic Asians in the univerity system in a twisted inversion of affirmative action.

I seemed to notice that Jeb slammed Asian-Americans, NOT the majority of the illegals in the US — who are “Mexican-Americans”. Coincidence? Planned? Hmmmmmm....
Correction, even if Jeb!’s fact is true.
This should teach Jeb! about pandering to one group at the expense of another. But I doubt he’ll learn anything.
Ain't that the truth! Politicians who stand on morals and principles never have to backtrack or re-target a comment. They stand by their words.
This is a classic example of a politician speaking off the cuff from a position of uncertainty.
