All the folks casting aspersions upon Trump as a conservative AND YET such notable conservatives as Jeff Sessions and Ted Cruz have supported Trump.

Cruz is not supporting Trump. Cruz is competing against Trump for the nomination.

We here still move in twilight. But we have one beacon to guide us that Ronald Reagan never had. We have his example.- Margaret Thatcher

Cruz is supporting Trump in the sense that he supports Trump’s positions and as a viable candidate which was emphasized when Cruz visited The Donald at Trump Tower. So what do you do when Trump is nominated and chooses Cruz to run wih him as VP?

Ask me when Trump is nominated. I highly doubt he will be. I’ve seen early excitement before for candidates who don’t end up getting nominated (much less elected).

Candidates like Fred Thompson who lacked energy and fizzled fast. Whatever you think of Trump, he definitely doesn’t lack energy.

FUn Fact: Your humble correspondent is a friend of the first broadcast radio host to endorse Trump.

Good quote. Reagan, Thatcher, and John Paul II. All three at the right place at the right time in history.

Don't forget that Sarah Palin has also said some very nice things about Trump.

The greatest benefit—so far—from the explosive Trump campaign, is this. For 50 years, the Left has carefully been constructing what we have called a “politically correct” mindset, for at least the last twenty of those years. It is a psychological structure, based upon the compulsion of Leftwing neurotics for uniformity of thought; but it has also infested the minds of much of the general population, very afraid to bring down on their heads the hysterical gobblings of those Leftwing neurotics.

Trump has demonstrated that throwing off that induced culture of fear, can be a lot of fun. It is contagious. It may well grow into a popular sport. It may ultimately prove the one thing that will finally stop the momentum that is destroying the America that we love and cherish. Think about it.

Compare Reagan's TV shows to Trump's. There would have to be a lot more ego in The Apprentice and Celebrity Apprentice than there was in General Electric Theater or Death Valley Days. At least from what little I've seen. It's a reflection of how much the country has changed.

What's visible on the surface in both men is the rebel or maverick side, but there was more to Reagan than that. He had a serious, dedicated side. It remains to be seen whether Trump has that. The emphasis in both men is always on being one's own man and going one's own way, but Reagan was able to work with others in the political system to get things done. Is Trump? Reagan wasn't just addressing a big FU to those who didn't agree with him 100%. Nowadays, it seems like everybody is doing that -- especially in politics, but also in the wider culture.

As I just posted, above:

Trump has another important advantage over any of the other candidates, in either party. He has a celebrity following that is not ideological. He will garner votes from people none of the only ideological candidates will reach.

Now it is, in my opinion, too early to commit to any candidate; but it seems largely devolving into a choice between Trump & Cruz, and I thank God every day for both of them.

Oh, for cryin out loud!

Don't get too excited. I'm just asking a question, inspired by what I saw at Trump's Alabama rally. I'm NOT saying Trump is the next Reagan. I'm just throwing out a question, and hoping for answers with a reasoning attached.

Otherwise, it would have made some sense.

Whats makes sense to some is hard to understand by others.

to wit: Liberals vs. conservatives... intelligent vs. cretins.. boys vs. girls...
