This is a Youtube video where Jeb Bush initially states to reporters: I don't regret using the term 'anchor baby' and then when he sees the reporters zero in on that his political hack instincts kick in and he gets that fear look on his face and asks the reporters what is an accceptable term to used.
Look at the video 9 seconds in and see the reporter in the blue checkered shirt on the right snicker at the pathetic scrambling Bush is doing. The reporter Bush initially turns to an asks for a PC term for "Anchor Baby" is kind of shocked that he is asked that and he shrugs basiclaly saying that is not his job.
So Bush started out trying to "stand his ground" and not back down from using the term "anchor babies" to within seconds surrendering and asking for the politically correct term to use and says "I will use it".
Look it is simple. Illegal aliens (which I hear is also now an 'offensive term') come to the USA and have a baby. This baby is now automatically an American citizen and "anchors" the illegal parents to the USA (prevents them from being easily deported) like anchoring a boat in harbor. It is not offensive. It accurately describes what the baby's citizenship at birth status does for it's illegal alien parents.

Anchorites= Babies (baby pl) born in the US of foreign citizens who are foreign subjects or of emmigrants entering here illegally. When born in the US of both parents who are not US citizens do not become citizens of the US period. Hence should not be entitled to the benefits and protection of being one.

I actually think he did a good job defending himself. However, what people are overlooking is his statement that he believes people born here should be American citizens.

I get pissed off when I see our side using the lefts words. It is homosexual, amnesty, anchor babies, etc, not some fancy word in order to help the left push their agenda and yet our side , some even on here do that.
