ATLANTA — Former President Jimmy Carter said Thursday that doctors had found cancer on his brain and that he would begin radiation treatment later in the day.
Mr. Carter, speaking at a news conference at the Carter Center here, said his health had been under scrutiny since May, when he had a cold while traveling in Guyana.
The former president added that the cancer, which he said was melanoma, had been found in his liver, part of which was removed during a procedure on Aug. 3. He described the melanoma on his brain as four “very small spots.”

His simple life in Plains, His Sunday School teaching, and his worldwide charities are much to be lauded. His tenure as President and his democratic policies were much to be abhorred!”
You are right we really don’t want to hear it .
He gave us the Iran problem we have now by what he did the Shaw who also had cancer at the time .
I’ll be glad when all the Democrat ex presidents are gone but I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.
He would have done better by being the President (CEO) of a furniture manufacturing company and by volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. POTUS and probably Governor of Georgia were out of his league.

In the summer of 1961, they found metastatic melanoma in my father’s brain. He died in March of 1962. Mr. Carter is almost twice the age that my father was. That will work against him.

I voted for him once and how I wish I could take that vote back.
And yes he did charity work after leaving office but he never learned to shut his mouth about every President who followed him, making him very unpresidential.
Then, the tumor must be very small.
Very sad news. I am certainly no fan of Mr. Carter, but this disease took my uncle, and it was not pretty to watch.

While I do not like the man’s abysmal record in office, I wish him and his family well. It’s ironic that liberals are spamming memes all over the place with the fact “he never killed anyone in war”. They conveniently disremember the helicopter crash during that failed Iranian hostage rescue. Technically, we were not at war, but that was a military operation in which brave Americans died.
The stuff he’s done with Habitat is very laudible.
But an honest evaluation of him as the “finest” of ex-Presidents must include the stuff he’s also done through the Carter Center. Some of which, in the opinion of some, borders on if not crosses into anti-semitism.
Compare/Contrast with George HW Bush, who has stayed largely out of politics (both domestic an international) but has spearheaded a number of large and successful charitable efforts. Including relief for Haiti and Katrina victims.
He has said some really hateful things these last few years.
He will have to explain himself before God why it was he slandered God’s chosen people.
As he works with the Left to deconstruct marriage. Sorry, he is demonic and an enemy of civilization, even as an ex-president.
