Donald Trump can earn his $10 billion fortune in only 217 million days of jury duty

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump took a break from the campaign trail to report for jury duty in New York. (Reuters)

Just north of City Hall in downtown Manhattan is the court building where, Monday morning, Donald Trump reported for jury duty.

Continuing a recent theme of hobnobbing with the hoi polloi, Trump's jury duty visit no doubt involved a lot of not-particularly-fancy venues and people asking for selfies. (He should not actually indulge this request, by the way. In 2009, Al Roker got in trouble for taking pictures and tweeting while on jury duty.)

If Trump's jury duty was at all typical, he waited in line to go through security, dropping his solid gold wallet (I assume) into a tray to pass through a metal detector.

LoL. The DC scribblers wish 217 million years of jury duty for Trump. The losers at the Washington Post today are spewing anti-Trump articles using hundreds of 55 gallon ink barrels.

Jurors are the most inconvenienced people in the court process. But while they have been many illogical and/or outrageous jury verdicts — most jurors and juries take there responsibility very seriously.

Maybe we will luck out and he will get on a sequestered jury that has a year long trial.

Donald Trump is a billionaire I highly doubt he carries a wallet and if he does it more than likely has little or no cash. He has people who handle that for him.

Got called last Monday. Spent the morning at the Court House but didn’t get pulled for duty and was sent home. My $12 check came in the mail today.

I guess the GOPe plan is to isolate him in a court room and remove him from running?

When I lived in New York, the court would call a pool of jurors. Each juror was given a number. As cases were called, juror numbers were drawn by lot to form a pool of potential jurors for that trial. The trial called could be civil or criminal. Those not seated went back into the big room to drink coffee.

I was picked for a jury on my last day of eligibility and spent six weeks listening to evidence. The jury ended up as a hung jury. Eleven for acquittal, one holdout for guilty.

Too bad, he should make double that. Wonder how many days he would have to work as a mediocre marxist scribe? I love success and successful people.

I can’t imagine that many so-called “conservatives” are accepted by defense lawyers.
I certainly have never been.
I show up for Jury duty, answer a few questions honestly, and am promptly shown the door...

He may put some of that money to work finding out why _he_ was chosen for jury duty at _this_ time. For as long as he’s been a NYC resident, seems odd that an unshakeable (and quite possibly indeterminate) demand on his time occur right when he need be elsewhere.

Two words: “Jury nullification.” Utter them and you’ll be sent on your way pronto.

The lib judges and activist trial lawyers will keep him in the jury system as long as it takes.
