SC cops refuse to release dash cam video of police shooting to death an unarmed, white teenager

State investigators have refused to release dash cam videos from the shooting death of an unarmed, white teenager in South Carolina that is also being investigated by federal agents.

--SNIP--

The video denial comes as the Hammond family's attorneys say a witness saw police pulling something from a patrol car trunk and placing it under the teen's body.

The lawyers, in a letter to U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch and FBI Director James Comey, also claim Seneca police officers desecrated Hammond's body by lifting his dead hand and slapping it with a high-five gesture, WCSC-TV reported Friday.

Interesting; the coroner says Hammond was shot in the back but the officer had to shoot him because Hammond was accelerating his car at the officer.

Help me out here. Somehow that doesn’t make sense to me.

Well he’s white and responsible for all the evils in the world, so he is being sacrificed on the altar of political correctness. No marches, no “white lives matter”, no hypocritical outrage.
The “justice “ dept will drop the case. No civil rights case. No nothing.

Isn’t dashcam video public information?

The village of Seneca is right next to Clemson. I suppose they get a lot of rambunctious college kids.

This proves it’s not white cops against blacks. It’s cops against everyone. Us versus them.

Bingo! Ding Ding Ding!

It is the people vs. The State.

The whole black thing just serves another purpose for the media.

Cops only shoot unarmed black kids. This was a white kid, so it never happened.

Yeah, the information given is very vague and contradictory. A sure indication that someone is lying.

I’ve met some very upstanding officers of the law in my time. I’ve met a few very bad eggs too. A broad brush statement about all cops being “against us” is something BLM would say.

I recently attended an attempted murder hearing in the south. What I saw was a “Good Old Boys” network where even the public defender was a part of the group.

The police and fire department testimony was in direct contradiction to their depositions and the defense attorney did nothing. It was a farce.

The DA was a complete idiot, claiming that the defendant stock piled ammunition to set up an ambush when all the ammunition was for his military machine gun not in his possession and all he had was a 9 mm with a few rounds. The whole thing was a frame job to cover for the complete idiocy of the police.

There is heavy pressure from Police Unions to shield what’s recorded by their cameras. But we live in a nation where the President and his Cabinet and their bureaucratic minions violate the Constitution as if they’re just scofflaws. Don’t expect any cooperation.

I do not doubt your story at all. I myself have witnessed these kinds of abuses of power. But institutionalized corruption always starts from the top down. We need to demand honesty, fairness, and legality from all our local governments, including the police departments.

With that being said, blanket statements about ALL cops is counterproductive. Nor is it true. Its not every single one of them. Corrupt cultures in police departments need to be brought into line. The bad eggs from the top down need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law when they commit heinous acts. I believe that should be the focus.

I know Seneca very well. It’s pretty slow. It’s summer time, Clemson is empty. There are some bad parts outside the city limits, crack houses mainly. I used to bike on some of the dirt roads until I started smelling solvents all over the place. There are 10x the number of churches as there are bars + ABC stores. During the Clemson football season and thereabout, the Seneca police run sobriety check points, other than that I’m surprised that
they actually felt the need to shoot somebody. That Hardy’s is like two years old and right next to Bojangles which is about 1 year old. Those parking lots are *very* well lighted so there should be a clear and well lit video.

I agree. I have several close friends who are judges and I hold them in high regard. I have also had several judges removed from the bench for judicial misconduct in the past. One of my most useful reference texts was the Rules for Attorneys in all 50 states.

I now work more in prayer and forgiveness than in my own strength. People have forgotten that they are accountable to God and nothing is hidden from Him. It all works out in the end.
