Club for Growth PAC Blesses Five GOP Candidates [Including Jeb Bush]
The Wall Street Journal ^ | August 10, 2015 | Patrick O'Connor

Posted on 08/11/2015 10:12:19 AM PDT by JeepersFreepers

The five candidates for which the Club will officially bundle campaign contributions are: Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas, Rand Paul of Kentucky and Marco Rubio of Florida; Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker; and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, a leading contender for the nomination who has struggled to gain traction with some conservatives.

Why is the Club for Growth contributing to Jeb Bush, a big government Republican? As the establishment, dynastic candidate, Jeb Bush will be well funded by the mega donors from the special interest groups, lobbyists, and political cronies that will benefit if he wins. If Bush wins the primary, he will go the way of Dole, McCain and Romney. Hillary will win the presidency. Looks like the Club for Growth has lost its bearings. No more contributions from me!

The club for growth is purely about economic issues. As far as I can tell, Florida is doing pretty good.

They support and oppose my governor on different issues all the time.

Correct. CFG is good for economic issues and of little value for anything else. Cruz belongs on the list as well. Walker is the only one on this list of five which is worth much.

If Rubio and Bush succeed in fundamentally transforming America into North Mexico, economic growth also goes in the toilet. Too bad CFG is too short-sighted to figure this out.

Correction: Walker is the only other one on this list of five which is worth much.

However, I am willing to look at some of the others which are at least indicating the right things: Ben Carson and Donald Trump especially.

The only one of those acceptable to me is Cruz. Money is not my whole life. I care about some things more than that.

Jeb will also have the advantage in a brokered deal…I suspect that’s why he’s sleepwalking through the primary.

No I do not support Walker. I do agree with him on some things. I am also grateful to him for the good he has done in his state. I do not want him as President.

Of the candidates listed, three are already on my “No way in Hell” list.

Walker is hanging by mere threads.

I doubt very much that any candidate the Club for Growth supports is one I would care to support.

Ok. I guess I don’t understand that but respect it. My idea of a conservative is a person who gets things done and really don’t care if they are good speakers or not. I am just not into that glamour type president that seems to be popular right now. We need a get in the weeds type of President. One that will get their hands dirty working hard. I honestly just think that guy is Walker....I love the fact he doesn’t have a degree (yet), I like the idea that he is not in Washington, I like the fact that he is not great at giving speeches....had enough speeches the last 7 years to last a life time. I guess I just want a guy who will get the job done as has proof of doing so already. However, like I said to others, I have a feeling we will all be disappointed with the nominee.....we always seem to end up with crap.

Why is the Club for Growth contributing to Jeb Bush

Perhaps they know the process is rigged, he's been anointed, and they want to buy some access. But they need to help maintain the illusion that it is a contest.

The first time I heard him I did not think he was a good speaker. I actually thought he was a good speaker when I heard him during the debate. it is not that. I can see why people like him. All I am saying is that on the issues I care about the most, he is weak. He flat out says that social issues are not as important and that we should focus on fiscal issues. He walks both sides of the marriage issue. I get to pick for me. I get one vote. He won’t get it.

Thanks for your explanation. I kinda hope that if Cruz does win, he stays as strong as he is. Of course Walker is my first choice, but I am starting to see why people do like Cruz. He really did a great job during the debate.
