From the “Little House” to the Congress? It could happen for Livingston County resident Melissa Gilbert.
Gilbert, star of the hit 1970s television series, “Little House on the Prairie” on Monday announced she would run as a Democrat for the 8th District Congressional seat in next year’s election.
The news thrilled area Democrats.
“I think it’s very, very exciting news,” said county party chairwoman Judy Daubenmier,
“We worked with her on the Schauer campaign (for governor) and, I can tell you, she’s a real trooper. She’ll be a very effective campaigner.”

I hope people don’t think they’ll be voting for Laura Ingalls. Melissa Gilbert is pretty and talented, but liberal, no mistake about it.

I saw the true character of Melissa Gilbert years ago on The Tonight show...she is NOT Laura Ingalls
This night on the show she had talked to Dan Quail in the green room and then went out and trashed Dan Quail why he was still back stage.

Melissa Gilbert has always been a flaming liberal..she has tweeted many times how she wants to ban guns so this is nothing new. The only Conservative on Little House was Melissa Francis who played Cassandra Cooper(She is on the Fox Business Network)
