Trump vs. Hillary would be a match between two of the most-hated people in America. A truly uninspiring race.

Uninspiring to YOU. But, Trump has a very inspired base of supporters.

“only true, consistent conservative in the race, Ted Cruz,”

Ted Cruz voted for a bad trade agreement. He voted to pass the Corker bill which makes it much easier to get Obama’s horrendous Iran nuke treaty through Congress. I was for him when he did the filibuster, but that was just to get his conservative credentials. It wasn’t going anywhere. If he hadn’t filibustered, he would have lost his support then and there.

Tom Cotton was the only true conservative that voted against the Corker bill.

Trump is up in all the post debate polls, Roger Ailes has called him to makeup so now he can come back on Fox news and declare victory. Life is good. :-)

Ah, a sensible voice. Thank you.

You are 100% correct

And you haven’t at all explained how someone who you say is arguably not conservative can help conservatism to flourish. If Trump is just as likely to cut a deal with Democrat congress as well as a Republican, conservatism doesn’t flourish. He has Arnold Schwarzenegger written all over him.

Cruz can’t win because the GOP and their friends will destroy him. They have done a good job of that in the senate. Currently the GOP has their hands full with Trump. If Trump loses, Cruz is done. I do think Trump and Cruz on some level have teamed up. Their supporters better team up, because Trump and Cruz are the only ones fighting against the GOP cartel.

Trump is a RINO.

Yeah, one that loves America, wants to secure the border, drives the Republican establishment crazy, wants to put Sarah Palin in his cabinet, that has had private meetings with Ted Cruz and has a great plan to cut taxes and simplify the tax code.

Why did your candidate meet with him if he is a RINO?

Cruz did NOT vote for the trade agreement.

To pick on one vote you don’t like that I think all but 1 senator voted yes on is an absurd standard.

Do you honestly think if Trump had been in Congress that he would’ve voted 100% the way you wanted to? Even when he was a Democrat for 10 of the last 15 years? And says he likes single-payer health care in some countries and called for a huge one-time tax to be levied to pay the government’s bills several years back?

I take "a sub-sample" to mean a picked-through portion of the 796 who "self-identified" as leaning Republican. It could seriously be less than 100 people - nationwide

IOW..completely meaningless.

The Bushes have controlled the republican nomination process since 1988, and the fix is in. If Trump does not prevail, it will be Jeb, without a doubt. I don’t care if Trump has been a registered communist all his life, he’s the only possible option to break their power. Cruz is best, but they’ll destroy him with money, just as they did to Newt in 2012 in Florida.

Trump is keeping progressive tax rates. That’s not a “great” plan, it’s a liberal plan. Cruz’ flat tax is a great, conservative plan.

Trump’s negatives are huge, so it’s unlikely he has much room to grow in the polls.

His favorables have nearly tripled with Republican voters since he started his run for President. So, his favorables have proven to be very fluid so far.

Because people are sick of the media crap.

Remember Caitlin Jenner? That show is bombing I turned it on for a second last night it’s embarrassing. Old men in wigs.

But according to the media that screwed up tranny is the most important thing in the world.

Trump sparked a media firestorm on Saturday when he accused Kelly, a Fox News host, of behaving unprofessionally and attacking him with unfair questions during Thursday night’s debate

Lol, many media firestorms that never become voter firestorms.

He has Arnold Schwarzenegger written all over him.

Nonsense. If Trump has proven to be one thing in his life -- it's loyal.

He has hardcore conservative support and is running on keeping his word and making big changes.

If Trump is so guaranteed to win, why do you feel you need to vote for him? Why don’t you vote your heart? If Trump needs your vote to win, then your theory that he can easily beat Bush is wrong. If your theory is right, then you may as well vote for Cruz, because no one can beat Trump.

Why is “electability” suddenly your main concern? That’s the line the GOPe used to get people to back Romney.
