I would expect a businessperson to be conservative (though I might hope).

The only reason to vote for a businessperson is that the budget and the economy are so frickin' bad that they might have an edge (and real-world experience) at making hard choices trying to get the house in order.

If that's your number one issue, then that's great. If the more conservative issues are paramount, then you probably want to look further on.
