Trump’s no bully, he’s a crybaby
Washington Post (Right Turn section) ^ | August 10, 2015 | Jennifer Rubin

Posted on 08/10/2015 2:45:18 AM PDT by rickyrikardo

The Fox News debate moderators treated Donald Trump like any other presidential candidate. They pressed him to explain past statements including his comments on Mexican immigrants and his misogynistic rhetoric. They queried him on policy flip-flops (e.g., on single-payer healthcare, on abortion) and on his financial support for Democrats.

Trump and his supporters then spent a good deal of Friday bellyaching that Fox had been too tough on him. He crudely insulted Megyn Kelly. He whined, “I think the questions to me — and that’s why I’m so honored — the questions to me were much tougher than the questions to anybody else.” Actually, they weren’t. Trump’s defenders deep in the heart of the right-wing echo chamber were incensed Trump would be asked to defend his record and egregious language. For a group that dishes it out unmercifully to every insufficiently conservative Republican and to all liberals, they sure seem squeamish when their pet candidate is on the receiving end.

It is wrong to say he was treated more harshly than other candidates. Jeb Bush got grilled on Common Core and immigration; Ohio Gov. John Kasich had to explain his stance on Medicaid expansion; Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker was asked about his 180 on comprehensive immigration reform; and, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) was pressed to explain how he could be president when he can’t even get along with the GOP Senate colleagues. But unlike these other candidates Trump whined during the debate. (“What I say is what I say. And honestly Megyn, if you don’t like it, I’m sorry. I’ve been very nice to you, although I could probably maybe not be, based on the way you have treated me.”)

Later on Friday Trump went a tick too far even for the right wing. The Post reported:

Uh oh. Now you’ve done it! The Trumpers will hunt you down and put you on super secret lists!

And then, they will cry and call you names...kind of like, well, Donald

Thank you - that was very kind :)

I do hope he doesn’t eventually help her get elected.

Those talking points must STOP!

Think for a minute...WHY would he take down the “cabal” when he has given most of them LOTS of money?

He is one who is responsible for putting these people in power and now, you think, he will all of the sudden, bring them down?

Why would ANY businessman waste money on someone or something that they are going to turn around and either fire or not use anymore? Trump won’t...he is all talk and you are a sucker.

The big difference, CRUZ isn’t Trump.

Cruz handles the left FAR better than Trump...

Cruz will win. I am not worried.

I watched the debate & heard him describe his evolution on abortion.

He praised Canadian single payer & complimented OCare.

What else do you think makes him a lefty?

Hillary’s campaign will sink under its own weight. She is a terrible candidate, and it will be 2008 all over again. Trump is doing good work right now...I think that he is laying the groundwork for someone like Cruz to come in after he flames out. If Bush ends up as the nominee, the GOP is in serious trouble come 2016.

If Trump was simply asked to articulate specific policies on the important issues confronting this country, he’d have to sink or swim accordingly. Many people do not like the “gotcha” attack. If he can’t articulate a coherent plan for the issues, he’ll falter in the end.

Thanks for supporting my argument. He is telling the truth, which is based on personal knowledge. What better way than to have personal knowledge of how the current corrupt system works.

So, how, then, if he put them there, is he now going to fight them?

You talk the talking points but give no answer.

Again, as a “smart” business man, wouldn’t that be a wasted investment on his part? I mean, he just gave some, like Corey Booker, 10K in 2014...and now, you think he will be tough on them?

“I’ve only posted it today - but I have been a FReeper for awhile ;)”

That join date seems to be a panic button when people find they are in error.

No, not at all. I believed you.

Kind of like just a little earlier I was telling someone for the umpteenth I love conservative Stacey Dash, and now I’m the last to learn she voted Obama. Broke my heart in pieces.

If Trump would do NOTHING else BUT build the wall, he would have done 100% more than any other candidate.

I have heard very little of how any candidate would restore and protect Life, Liberty and Freedom (let’s see who is still talking the PP de-funding in a few months [finger-in-the-wind]).

So, given the change of a fence/wall (and, I’d presume, trade agreements on OUR (U.S.) benefits as a businessman), he’s leading the hand on the lever w/out doing much else.

IMO, the non-PC talk is more than refreshing. Fact, it’s sad to see just how embedded it’s become over 15-20yrs....THe pussification of the electorate

Bully or Crybaby, which is it? Jeez, the only crybabies seem to be the eGOP that hates Jebthro not getting all the attention.

Another day, another anti-conservative screech from the panties-always-in-a bunch, perennially pre menstrual, resident designated conservative basher Jennifer Rubin. She doesn't appear to be a very happy person does she?

It is wrong to say he was treated more harshly than other candidates. “

Fox News panelists themselves have said they went after Trump harder because he was the front runner.

Rubin calls Trump a misogynist. Does she know what the word means? Criticizing specific women in specific circumstances does not make one a misogynist. Any more than criticizing a man makes one guilty of misandry.

And yet Trump is the name caller...
